  • I fourth avacados! These are an incredible superfood from God! I really like organic cold-presed olive oil, flax oil, and coconut oil. Oh, and young coconuts are great for that too. Just my faves!
  • Eating in the Raw by Carol Alt is good for beginners (she isn’t vegan though) and The Raw 50 is good too.

  • I use Jason’s shampoo and conditioner right now, Burt’s Bees face wash and balm, and Trader Joe’s toothpaste, all natural products. I really like what I’m using as it’s gentle and effective. In the past, I’ve just washed my face with water, but I re…

  • Nezumi, you made me smile! Keep it up the raw, girl! And even if you’re not eating completely raw, when you do eat cooked try to eat whole foods (brown rice and brown bread, baked potatoes, ect.) It’s better to eat 50-75% raw than all raw and than al…
  • I totally agree. I get so cold easily lately, due to winter. Elizabethh, it’s true I love it when I do excersises because they warm me up so nicely and then I’m craving a cold shake or drink. I love that feeling! Tea does help, but what I love when…
  • It depends what type or quality you want. My sister-in-law got an Excalibur at a garage sale! I was a bit jealous! :0) But sometimes you can find great stuff at yard sales.

  • When you wash dishes or do any cleaning where cleaning gloves. But FIRST put some olive/coconut/avacado oil on your hands. When you put your hands in hot water it’ll actually make your hands soft, not dry! Tell me what you think, but I love the feel…
  • When I’m not completely raw I really enjoy whole foods such as baked potatoes, brown rice, homemade (we grind our own organic wheat we grow) bread, millet, toast with jam…but raw food makes me feel the best usually.
  • Humananimal, coconut oil helps you lose weight. I would keep that one in, I think. It’s a fat your body really needs. But perhaps I’m a little biased :0) I love coconut oil. :0)

  • So get the Vita-Mix! It is worth ALL that money, every blessed cent. You won’t regret it, the cheap ones are a pain. I KNOW! I’m crazy about the Vita-Mix!
  • Flour can be raw. Sometimes, but not very often…I use freshly ground organic wheat (we grow it ourselves!) for my recipes. That is very healthy! But most flours are really bad for you, refined, bleached, irridated (I know it’s spelled wrong. :0)

  • I’ve heard that banana skins can actually be used to get rid of warts by tying a piece of it around the wart overnight and doing that till it’s gone. I don’t have any warts so I don’t know if it works. :0) If the skin of the fruit is organic I like…
  • First of all, enzymes are small proteins. The hydrocholoric acid (stomach acid) cannot break down proteins in the stomach, therefore enzymes stay alive in our intestines and can be absorbed into our tissue system…which helps break down old cooked fo…
  • I’ve had that problem too. You can definitely use a raw oil to grease your trays (sometimes I have to do that), use coconut oil or olive oil, those are the ones that I think would be good for greasing. Make sure you use the right trays for the rig…
  • My first sip was “wow, this tastes like apple cider vinager pop”, but now after a few days of drinking it, it reminds me more of pop without the vinager. I don’t know why. Hope tht helps Skizzy.
  • Jeshuabrown, I used a hug milk jar and cover the top with a piece of cotton with a rubber band around it. No lids and it can breathe. I used organic white tea for my batch and I love it.
  • Thank you! I’ve been drinking it for several days. I LOVE IT!!! Did some research on my own. I made it with raw organic sugar (because from the research I did it’s very very hard and not effective when done with agave or honey). The mushroom actuall…
  • Not trying to be contreversial but I would say a good high-quality blender. I use ours 2-3 times daily! If you’re talking a cheap blender then I would definitely agree and say the food processor, but if you’re getting a good blender that’s a differe…
  • Thanks a lot!
  • Thank you buckets guys!
  • I believe it would be the pan or container they use. A quiche pan, a spring board pan could work too and then afterwards just shaping the sides of it with fingers, depending on the consistency of the dough.

  • This is a great thread! I love the idea of having a place on the site for newbies and all their questions. I think it would be nice to have some articles such as “Why raw?” and such. Oh, the site is so nice! :0) www.rawroyalty.blogspot.com

  • Ok, how long should you do it (is 7 days the traditional way to do it, or should you do it shorter?)? Can you do the seed thing just whenever you happen to eat papaya or does it have to be exclusively a few day thing?
  • Can you do this cleanse just eating raw along with it?
  • It’s great to grind them to get all the nutrients, but having some whole ones are great too, because they act like a stiff broom to sweep out your colon.

  • How’s your metabolism? Are you speeding it up with “hotter” foods, coconut oil (yes, I said coconut oil) and are you eating anything that not’s raw that is very fattening (breads and baked goods can make weight loss stubborn, butters, margarines, hy…
