  • Absolutely!!! This online community is awesome, so supportive. Thank you Kandance and Ray for starting this. My hat goes off to you.
  • One might call that detoxing…altho’ when I’m raw my moods tend to be steady. But if this is your first time raw I would assume that you’re definitely detoxing. Give yourself time and don’t give up on the raw food thing…it’s always worth it!!!

  • That’s awful…could it be your water wasn’t pure and was infected with those worms somewhow?
  • I agree with One, and I’m guilty of this, but emotional troubles shouldn’t be soothed with food. It’s always a good habit to get out of and eating raw might be a good opportunity to shake off it off.

  • I believe the same thing happened to me when I used dates to sweeten it, don’t know why, but when I use honey to sweeten it it doesn’t do that (plus it’s a whiter milk). But I still drank and enjoyed the date milk, after shaking. :0)

  • Standard American Diet. This consists of cooked and dead food, fast food, processed stuff, colored, preserved and toxic junk. Whole foods and raw foods are yet to be fully discovered and explored by the majority of North Americans.

  • Maca balances your hormones, but I haven’t done any research on mesquite powder yet.

  • I know what you mean. If you have a high speed blender you can make raw soups that are warmed by the friction of the blender, that’s good. Or drink lots of organic, herbal tea or hot lemon and honey is cozy. Make some dehydrated goodies, chilis, spa…

  • Just wanted to clarify that although lots of raw foodists enjoy teas and cocoas and maple syrup, they aren’t “techinally” raw, but are still good for you if their quality is very pure and organic. Still, they aren’t considered really raw.

  • There’s lots of different temperatures people state…I’ve heard 108 as well. Natural_Vegan, lots of raw foodists enjoy herbal teas…warm/hot as opposed to hot/hot water, this wouldn’t be too different. You could always just have it for a special treat…

  • Simplicity, easy-ness, people don’t have as much time as they used to.
  • http://rawgoddessheathy.blogspot.com/ Heathy just published a great recipe on her site…it looks divine.

  • Definitely the Vita-Mix!!! So worth the money!!! I use ours 2-3 times a day. I could kiss it daily!
  • They say that say that dried apricots (which is what I have in mind) are supposed to be brown and ugly if you buy them and that’s a sign there’s no coloring or sulpherized stuff in it.

  • I mean is the sulferic acid that’s used to preserve dried fruits…why is that bad for us? Are you saying, Birdseed, that the chemical synthetic sulphurs are the ones used for preserving? And I’m curious, Birdseed, why you think MSM is bad? I’m really…

  • I try to always keep a little baggie of almonds and pecans/walnuts in my purse. I find for myself that nuts really tide me over and keep me from hunger. Sometimes I keep a Lara bar in my purse too, that helps. Sometimes I make a seaweed wrap for tr…
  • Dido to getting the green vein out. Personally, I’ve never had trouble digesting garlic, but nonetheless, I tried deviening it. Hope that works.
  • Hey, Breaking Free, I really recommend you getting Serene Allison’s book “Rejuvinate your Life”. Maybe you already have heard of “Above Rubies”, but you can get it from there…www.aboverubies.org Her granola is quite crispy…or you could try Sarma’s …

  • Have fun, pundee. I did it too and really liked it! But I don’t have any cellulite so I didn’t really notice any difference, except for a clean feeling perhaps.
  • Day 1 done! Yay! I adore grapefruits and I’ve felt so awesome all day, but perhaps a little lethargic. I have the oddest feeling right now though, I seriously feel really really full, like too full, like I ate a big meal. One too many grapefruits? T…
  • Astara, I did a bit of research on it and I want to do a little more. You could call it very similar to a water fast, which never hurted anyone, but I guess it’s almost more of a juice fast for three days really. Raw honey, while you do your first …
  • I’m going to do it! Yay! FINALLY! I’ve been wanting to do this forever now, well, it seems like it. You guys are so inspiring. You can check out these next three days of grapefruit cleansing at my blog www.rawroyalty.blogspot.com
  • Are you sick of grapefruits yet, RawHoney? Last night I was thinking I might like to try it. Could you tell me all the benefits of it once you’re completely completed. How do you feel?
  • That sounds really interesting, when you learn more about let us know. Three days just on grapefruit juice, wow, I love that drink, but I might hate it in the end. :0) You go girl!
  • If cucumber peels are organic…USE Them!!! They have I believe silicon in them (or perhaps selenium, I get those mixed up) amd anyway, are super good for you. Apparently the nutrients in cukes are really close to the skin as with many other organic v…

  • I’ve been wondering that myself. I know relatively where to find it…it’s just pricey for me. Oh, and like yanyan, I would be very curious if bulkfoods.com sells it.
