  • ugh i know how you feel, i fell of the wagon today. i just smoked pot (its 4:20) for the first time in over a year. was fun but now i feel symptoms of depression coming on which i haven’t felt in, well, over a year. i’m sure i’ll be fine tomorrow.
  • i react very badly to braggs (mad stomach pain and headaches), and have no reaction to small amounts of ume plum vinegar (i use eden brand, their red wine vinegar is also good). so i would say braggs is worse.
  • 1- eating cooked foods creates an enzyme deficit. the enzymes in our body were never meant to be used for digesting foods. since enzymes catalyze virtually every biological reaction in existence, and since we only started eating cooked food about 35…
  • to be honest i’ve never had sunburn, but i would still say 5 hours in the sun is a little excessive. the truth is, we have depleted the ozone layer. so while the sun is still our friend, i try to keep in mind that its still not as safe as it was whe…
  • tahini, lemon juice, and a squirt of agave or honey if you have some all whisked together makes a lovely dressing.
  • i do that too, so i don’t think that’s the problem. thanks though!
  • rawnutrition.ca is absolutely right, but the important thing is to get a full range of amino acids in order to give your body the resources it needs to build up proteins. with a range of green leafy vegetables, and one of the complete proteins (i.e.…
  • if you’re okay with it, you might want to invest in some cheap staples such as lentils, buckwheat, sunflower seeds, etc…generally low glycemic works great for budget raw diets. sprouted grains are great. sprouts in general are fantastic.
  • yes, you absolutely can eat too much on a raw diet. i ate too much (of completely raw food) yesterday and feel awful today.
  • really? i love live, i think its fantastic. rawlicious is nice too, their zuccheti is nice, as is their strawberry cheescake.
  • seek professional help. there are likely free programs available in your community. this sounds like an eating disorder, and shouldn’t be taken lightly or dealt with online.
  • waxing and lasering works for me!
  • definitely not raw…everything, and i mean EVERYTHING in a can or glass bottle in a grocery store (exception: raw apple cider vinegar, high ph) has been pasteurized to kill clostridium botulinum spores.
  • i like sprouted buckwheat and lentils…i don’t really eat any other grains or legumes. (technically buckwheat is a fruit, not a grain). they make great staples for low-glycemic and cheap meals.
  • likely detox. i can say with confidence that raw gives an intense boost to the immune system, since this is the only winter of my life so far where i have not been sick once. every other winter ive had a cold at leats 4 or 5 times plus the flu at le…

  • really depends how they’re made. i had a few that tasted nothing like cheesecake but were still really good, and also a few times i honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the nut cheesecake and the “real” one.

  • i’ve had these white lines literally my entire life, including now, after almost a year raw. they don’t really bother me. in fact, this one time i went to get a manicure and the lady told me that in her culture white lines on nails is a sign of good…
  • i don’t view all cooked food as toxic or poison, i believe thats a really extreme view that is generally unfounded. i view cooked food as inferior to raw food (most of the time), but cooked say, steamed veggies and brown rice, is definitely not toxi…

  • its like waking up in george orwell’s 1984. the words “harmonize” and “compliant” are super scary!
  • don’t take my word for it but from what i know coffee is a diuretic, so the bloating could just be a result of your body getting used to getting rid of water at a normal rate not accelerated by coffee? just a thought, good luck!
  • same thing happened to me, and then after like 4 days only 3 (yes, 3 out of maybe 100) garbanzos actually sprouted. i was told the starting beans were too old. hope you have better luck!
  • although i’m definitely more than suspicious of the medical establishment for obvious reasons, i try not to get caught up in conspiracy theories pursee. the reason for this is, i don’t really know who people are talking about when they say “they” or…

  • i’m just a tiny bit skeptical about some of the things he says, because i tend to reject over-confident people who leave no room for doubt, but overall i think he’s made some very valuable contributions to the raw food world.

  • izhpt, thats so interesting that your migraines disappeared with raw! a really good friend of mine has awful migraines, and i’m sure he’ll be thrilled to find out they can be helped with dietary changes.
  • i use miso rarely and shoyu even more rarely. i feel a little guilty about it until i see a friend pouring half a bottle of soy sauce on her rice, so i really don’t mind it once in a while. i don’t think its a big deal unless you have an allergy or …
