  • It’s sad; it’s like I can feel the quality of the fruit diminishing as we approach winter, here in the Boston area. Every peach I’ve gotten in the past few days has rotted without ripening. I’m taking them back to Whole Foods tomorrow and demanding …
  • I agree; it makes your life so much more simple. I started to really understand “food as fuel” and expand on my life when I started 811. I’m practicing fruitarianism right now…is anyone still doing 811? What happened to el-bo?
  • Hi! Breaking the fast was done in the heat of emotion…and needless to say that my body wasn’t done cleansing yet. I thought I was ready to return back to food, but I’m just not yet…I feel like I didn’t do what I wanted to do so I’m taking the opport…
  • How is everyone doing? I just ended a five day water fast with watermelon and am excited to be getting back to my “regular programming.”
  • Thanks, you’re motivational. I started tonight at 7 pm. Maybe we should make a separate thread for water fasters so we don’t derail 811? gets on it
  • Glad to have you around, littlegems. :-) And thanks El-bo! I agree; water fasting is the only true fasting. My goal is to do a 10 day water fast this year, like I did last year. I’m building up the balls! I do detox A LOT when on juice only, it seem…
  • El-bo, I’m shocked…no comment? I also water-fast, but it zaps me..
  • Hey everyone! I broke my water fast on some fruit last night, although I am feeling like I could easily fast today. We’ll see how it goes… One question for people who are familiar with 811: What does Doug G. think of juicing? I just got into it rece…
  • I think I might be doing this juice fast/feast for awhile… I know that juicing isn’t found “in nature,” but I am an animal found in nature myself and I have discovered a tool that helps me juice. :-) Good luck with the challenge, everyone.
  • I’m still drinking juice-only…I don’t limit myself…just drink up. :-) I mostly have orange, pineapple, watermelon, or apple. Sometimes I blend greens in with them.
  • Morn, I’m glad you’re finding success with 811. I’ve enjoyed your posts on RFT for awhile and am happy to see you here. I am doing 811 in earnest, but I am also tampering with juice feasting a bit.
  • Does anyone know how much fat baby coconut WATER has? I’m still f(e)asting on liquids and discovered how yummy young coconut water is.
  • So pumped about this August experience. I am going to be camping in the wilds of New Hampshire this weekend for peace of mind and cleansing. I will be drinking raw juices (orange juice, mostly – easy to make while camping) until I am compelled to ea…
  • I’m in. I am also astonished at how my body has streamlined with 811rv.
  • Thanks nycgrrl! Yep, I intend on doing the August 811 for sure; too many wonderful things are happening to my body to stop now.

  • Hey guys, it’s so sweet of you to think of me. I’ve been doing okay~ I started fasting on orange juice a few days ago and have been doing better with my attachment to marijuana. Really the past few weeks have been full of soul-searching for me; disc…

  • Nobody has anything to say about this?
  • Hey Hannah – don’t worry or stress about how much you are eating. I COULDN’T BELIEVE how much raw food I was consuming at the beginning – it wasn’t unusual for me to go through 4 heads of broccoli in an hour or so; I inhaled that stuff. I went throu…
  • Hey Slosh-uh! I was wondering where you went to. You struck me as a very memorable poster and I missed seeing your name around. Welcome back!

  • Damn, I wish I was in the UK. I would love to meet other 811ers.
  • At LEAST 100 $$ a week for me…sometimes it’s more like $140. Almost everything I buy is organic. I’ve been fasting off and on though, and that seems to help my food bill tremendously.
  • Wow, thank you for sharing your story so truthfully. It really helps me. I’ve been raw for awhile now, but sometimes I find myself craving cooked and wonder if it would be worth it. I have truly learned something from this thread. It helps to hear t…
  • I’ve been doing ‘no poo’ for about 7 months now, as long as I’ve been raw. My hair was almost down to my waist when I started. I went through some adjustment with grease/odor/dandruff as my head detoxed itself, and also some hair loss, surprisingly.…
  • Hey everyone, I know it’s lame, but I’ve been avoiding this thread after making it. I haven’t been doing too good on the drugs – using nightly, still. However I’m done now. I had a panic attack last night, and I felt like it was a message that came …
  • Izhpt: WOW, sounds like you are RAWKING this challenge! Congrats and well done – keep it up!
  • For me, alcohol is very toxic. I can’t even enjoy a few sips without feeling the way my body struggles to process it, the harm it’s doing. I haven’t had a drink in about ten months. Bitt- I can see however why you might be tempted. The reason why st…
  • Mamamilk – it’s funny you mentioned “fast” because I feel like that’s exactly what I need right now. I just need to stop everything – I need to stop using food as a stimulant just as much as marijuana. I definitely have a raw food addiction as well.…
  • Yes everyone, the TIME IS NOW! I have found that when my mind starts to stray into addictive thinking (starts fantasizing about getting high, for instance), I can focus my attention into my inner body, use my senses to ground myself in my reality, a…
  • My body is covered in scars; my arms, my legs, my chest and my stomach. I went through a traumatic period when I was younger and my scars are very visible. There are thousands of them, some of them quite large. I would love to find a way to reduce s…

  • Wow, I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and love. Every person here has given me something to do think about and has given me perspective and appreciation. I had a long, glitzy dance with Mary Jane, and I do consider it a tool wh…
