  • I had this problem too until I upped my fluid intake and starting eating more fat too…mostly coconut oil. This seemed to lubricate everything. (For lack of a better word!) Now I feel great:)

  • This is the book that lead me to raw! Fantastic resource for info on various ingredients. Not all the recipes are raw but they have raw options. I forgot to bring the book home with me over the summer and it’s funny how I want to read it now for nos…

  • I had all the symptoms of Crohn’s or UC last year before I started eating raw, went through all the lovely tests (colonoscopy/biopsy/probing etc etc) and all came back negative. I had massive amounts of blood in my (very watery) stool every day and w…
  • I had very similar issues and healed them completely with a week-long juice feast. I even put 10 pounds on during that week because I was so underweight and my body could finally assimilate easily-digested nutrients from the juice. If anything, I wo…

  • I avoid cruciferous veggies like the plague. Works every time;)
  • Candida overgrowth can also create major sweet cravings since yeast feeds on sugar!

  • I really notice a heavy feeling when I eat dried fruit and nuts now. I think it’s because, on SAD I would be gassy and bloated all the time but on raw, I never am. Unless I load up on the dates and nuts!

  • You may have an issue with parasites or bacterial overgrowth. I had the same gassy/bloated thing and cured it with a 3 day juice feast. After the 3 days I no longer had gas when I ate and now never get bloated at all…which is so miraculous for me:) …

  • That’s a great thought morning_theft. That’s probably why I feel ill when I eat gluten-free grains too:(
  • I have celiac too:( Wheatgrass and buckwheat don’t contain gluten as they aren’t technically wheat. Barley and rye DO contain gluten so I would avoid those grains. Same with kamut and spelt. Oats are questionably raw…and it’s up in the air as to whe…
  • I tried them raw and got the WORST stomach ache/cramping of my life! You may want to try just a few first and see how you feel. Then again, I have a lot of trouble with all cruiferous veggies so if you’re okay with kale or broccoli or other crucifer…

  • I used to mix nutritional yeast, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and cayenne pepper. Then I would take wet pieces of seaweed (nori, wakame, dulse) and dip them in the seasoning. It was really tasty.
