  • Zoe – I love these affirmations! I can’t wait to repeat that – i’ll start today. Something needs to overcome the negative self talk. I’m going through lots of changes (moving, taking college classes, preparing to buy land for permaculture) and it’s …
  • ‘what news you received 5 years ago that could possibly have been better’ i bet chris discovered raw food 5 yrs ago! haha queenfluff, same here.
  • Chris and Zoe’s advice is right on. I follow Victoria Boutenko’s idea of eating whatever raw food i crave, when i crave it. Because of this, I’m on my 4th month eating mostly raw. It was very easy to transition, because it was all about trying new a…
  • I like this smoothie: strawberries, bananas, swiss chard. Another favorite is cacao, almond milk, honey
  • I read green for life. Excellent book! I drink green smoothies most mornings for breakfast. They’re incredibly healthy!
  • Coconut Curry and my red curry is great too! it’s not totally raw if you fry the cumin+coriander… and the dried chilis aren’t raw. Ingredients 1 tsp cumin seeds 2 tsp coriander seeds 1/2 tsp black peppercorns 1/2 tsp salt 10 (20g) large dried chill…
  • I eat as angie does. As much of whatever raw foods I want. I crave tons of salads, fruits, small amounts of nuts/avos/oils. Some days I’ll eat mono fruits (tons of one fruit) every meal. Some days I eat complex raw recipes. For example the past 4 da…
  • There’s plenty of debate on this. To be safe, set it at 114. If you feel that gabriel is right, his reasoning is basically that the food with lots of water in it stays at a lower temp even though the dehyd. is at 145 the food is cooler at first, whi…
  • Eat tons of fresh greens, fruit, veg. Sleep a lot. You’ll have some good and bad days. It took me four weeks till my energy reached and stayed high. During one week i slept 12 hours a day! But now i’m all set – awake, energy, etc. Be sure to avoid c…
  • Queenfluff – your parents and mine would be best buddies. My folks disapprove of everything in an extreme way – to the extent that they lie to their friends and family about much of my life. Hehe. They’re right wing religious folks and they’re creep…
  • gorawmom – if ntombi is right, and he’s not cleaning out the old pipes enough, i highly recommend flax. these flax crackers can be purchased here they come in four flavors, i LOVE them, and they clean the system right away. they’re TASTY crunchy sna…
  • i’ll get a tshirt too! a nice slogan “Gone Raw!” and a little logo maybe? it could come in girls and guys styles (maybe more girls shirts, judging from the large # of female members). You could ask for logo design submissions if you want!

  • Yeah, i do this all the time. Soak buckwheat groats for 8 hours, then drain and rinse very well (until water runs clear) every 1/2 hour for 3-4 hours. Then, you can rinse every 6 hours for the next 24 hours. DO NOT let them sprout any longer- they’l…
  • I’m interested to see what they say as well.
  • It could be that dry weather is affecting your body. Or that you’re experiencing a weird cold. Or your immune system is very low. Be sure to drink plenty of water. Try to use vasoline on your lips. I’ve never heard of a bad reaction to fruit that ca…

  • Chris – great post! I know I fall into the category of ‘transition to all raw’, but I figured this input is helpful anyway. My challenge in going all raw lies in #5 Making all my own food is too time consuming and not convenient. I’m trying to eat 1…
  • hi shrk_byte! to stay raw, here’s some great ideas: 1) remove yourself from family meals – take your food outside and have a delicious picnic! 2) read goneraw, recipes, and watch youtube raw videos, for inspiration 3) always keep delicious raw food …
  • i eat the same amount of fat as bitt – 1/2 nuts+1avo+2Tbsp raw oil OR 1 cup nuts+1 Tbsp raw oil most days of the week. about 600 calories come from nuts or avo or oil each day, out of my 1600 to 2,000 calories. i’m 23, 5’5”, 133lbs, i bike 2-4 miles…
  • Waring blenders are bad. I use the vitamix blender instead of food processor, but i’d get a cuisinart 7 cup food processor – it’s the BEST.
