  • Great point Meditating! I agree with that. I don’t own a car and don’t plan to. I bike or walk everywhere, thus greatly reducing my carbon footprint. I plan to do more in the future… but i feel like not using a car has a huge impact already.

  • Excellent clarification, Zoe. In summary… probably all store bought olives in bulk bins have been cured in lye, which is a toxic chemical. So although they’re not heated to high temps, they are chemically altered, which I wouldn’t consider yummy. To…
  • kminty – that’s what i thought too! I realize that the oil isn’t raw, but I thought the non-canned bulk olives in the supermarket were raw. are the oil cured olives raw?
  • khalderon – green smoothies are very beneficial to your health. that’s fine if you’d prefer not to eat them, but they are very beneficial. I don’t see how blending is unnatural compared to cooking. Cooking removes enzymes and nutrients – in contrast…
  • Meditating – wow. the propaganda machine extends to employees and their immediate family? That’s frightening. I wonder when people will frackin wake up.
  • aecsaky – it takes time to adjust to the fiber. but once you do, the fiber works wonders for you! psyllium is very strong, its important to drink tons of water and only take the psyllium for a week at a time (not continuously). if you want to have a…

  • Zoe – I wonder why they don’t sell raw carob everywhere, if it tastes better raw. I like carob – it’s different than chocolate. I find that it’s tasty in mousse (avocado, banana, sweetener blender – served w/ strawberries). It’s tasty in certain des…

  • I agree with anngoingraw. things to do: use a coffee grinder on the dry nuts, OR soak them a while before blending them. if you do those things it can work without a vitamix. for pie crusts, i think walnuts would work nicely (walnuts and dates are a…
  • I’m not a mother, but I wanted to give advice regarding soft food. Do you have a vitamix? If not, it’s an excellent investment. You can put water and any raw veggie or fruit in the vitamix, and it will blend into a smooth puree. the vitamix easily h…

  • Something to remember – most dried fruit at the store isn’t raw (unless it’s sold as raw by some online raw store). If you plan to be 100% raw, you may want to make your own dried fruit. I got my dehydrator and didn’t like the first 5 recipes i made…
