  • I am truly sorry to hear what you all are going through. I feel helpless when i can’t assist others, when I know things that just might save them. Sigh. I wanted to mention B17 and apricot pits, although everyone on the thread probably knows about t…

  • i haven’t had the flavors mix in my excalibur. as long as it doesn’t drip, you might be okay. i can’t give tips on the round dehydrator though.
  • I healed myself from it. I kept my stress really low, and I ate very nutritious food. I exercised regularly. Luckily, I’ve had no recurrence – 3 years later.

  • I think humans need to consume 50% of their diet in greens. The rest, a variety of veg/fruit. Before agricultural crops 10,000 years ago, humans probably never ate grains. I eat grains, but only 3-4 meals a week.
  • time off… then bike! running is too hard on my knees, and i’m young. anyway, i love to swim/bike for that reason.
  • Deanna, I’m here to send LOADS of encouragement your way. My first year attempting to be raw, I couldn’t do it. I just kept reading and reading, staying positive, and encouraging myself to eat more raw here and there. I experimented with recipes and…

  • Great tips! #2 is SO important. It’s all about getting enough sleep and mental rest. That helps SO much. Here are my newbie tips: Look at pictures online of raw foods – that way it’s easy to be excited about fabulous uncooked foods! Also – watch you…
  • I’ve never ordered them online. my food co – op gets them in bulk. I’d like to know the answer to the black sesame seeds question!

  • I’ve given up too, Carmentina. There is so much potential for a good soup – mine always come out funky. At least I can successfully make raw crackers and pates now! They’re average, room for improvement, but hey – if I can eat them happily, that’s a…

  • 29ToMyGrave – My crackers are good, and they’re even better if you follow my updated recipe (it calls for 1 cup sunflower, 1 cup almond or walnut). See the raspberry lemonsnowcone website.
  • I have a sunflower seed cracker recipe on my website. www.raspberry.lemonsnowcone.com it comes out very mild – i’d recommend substituting 1 cup sunflower seeds for 1 cup of your favorite ground nuts (almonds, for example). I liked my crackers- they …
  • yeah… i love my version of the tzatziki recipe on this site. blend pine nuts, cucumber, salt, and fresh dill …maybe a little garlic powder too. try to use very little water. It’s fabulous! use it to dip carrots.

  • 105 degrees is fine – you won’t kill any enzymes @ that temp. Read the excalibur website, the letter to raw foodists. they have accurate information.

  • that is sad, tunacupcakes. i sympathize – when i go to the zoo, i love to see the animals, but it’s hard to see them caged. at the same time, they’re not doing so well in the wild, thanks to human destruction. i try to put these things out of my min…
  • It’s interesting to read the different perspectives here. I’m new to raw (researched and ate 80% raw for the past year). I feel that cooked food caused me so many illnesses that weren’t cured by going 80% raw. Maybe after I detox for a while, things…

  • Hi Luna blu, I agree that even 50% raw is better than SAD, and the body will experience much improvement on any percentage raw:50,75,90,100. I encourage folks to find the raw percentage that works for them. However, my personal opinion of raw for my…
