  • Cool! I found previews of both here: http://www.ravediet.com/
  • I sympathize. I gave up coffee, had some digestive problems – but fiber pills will take care of that! Buy some fiber pills quickly and start taking them. OR the natural route- drink green smoothies 3x per day. All that fiber is going to clean ya out…
  • RAWGENE – if they smell funny, don’t use them – they’ve gone bad. I wouldn’t recommend trying to use them, even if you boil them. Instead, buy some fresh garbanzos and boil them, then you can cool the soup to room temp and add the rest of the raw in…

  • Wow Dain5000, THANK YOU for pointing me to the book about B17! I read this in the amazon book reviews, and I wanted to post it here. It makes SENSE based on what I’ve read in some raw food books about enzymes… I want to investigate the biology of it…

  • This is a well written post and an inspiration. I am amazed at how similar this is with my path to raw food. I’m 23 as well, vegetarian 8 years but only when I became vegan 2 years ago did I take an interest in healthy eating and food preparation. I…

  • Since it’s not raw, I try to avoid soy and nama shoyu. I dont know about the health issues though.

  • I’m using unhulled buckwheat. I’ve used wheatberries too – my food processor simply won’t grind them into dough, I tried last month. I’ll try drying and using a coffee grinder.
  • Ardesmond: if my food processor sucks and won’t grind them, what do you suggest? Dehydrate, then pop em in the coffee grinder? I might try that. Or should I buy a vitamix dry blade for this?
  • Good info! Thanks for the heads up about flour sacks – perhaps I can find them at the grocery store.
  • Haha omshanti, jenergy – ya’ll are funny. A yurt sounds fabulous, I really wish I could live in a small yurt community. And take care of horses and animals for a living. It’s good to get a dose of reality, omshanti – living close to nature sure is m…

  • Oh yeah, my other big concern is safety. Couldn’t someone easily break into your yurt?

  • I want to hear more about yurts. I’d love to live in one – but I don’t have a car, and it’s only possible to get land in the woods (I’d need to drive to work). Does anyone have ideas about how to make my yurt living dream a reality? (aka buying a us…

  • Wow… I want to watch the video tonight, but just reading the news article – - it looks like a great story.
  • Hi Miss cute! I definitely suggest reading these this forum: http://www.goneraw.com/forums/8/topics/4271 And joining this forum: http://www.goneraw.com/forums/3/topics/4412 On the 100% raw week forum, we can offer encouragement and advice about how …
  • wash and prep all veggies on the weekends. sprout on the weekends. Throw fruit in the freezer for smoothies if you’re not using it right away.
  • Check out What are you eating. You’ll find that many foods we eat are appliance free or require only a low end blender. http://www.goneraw.com/forums/8/topics/4271
  • Somanybooks – I didn’t have any appliances and I was 80% raw for the past year. You can do it.. just start slowly. It’s easy to blend things in a blender or make some simple dishes by chopping. Try 2 new, simple recipes a week while you’re in transi…
  • Yes! It certainly is possible. I live in upstate new york, and I’m 99% raw. I choose to eat entirely local in summer/fall (supporting a coop), and to eat some local in winter. For example, most root vegetables are edible. Lettuce is grown locally ar…
  • boston lettuce, avocado, bananas, apples – they’re soothing foods, as they are easy to digest, simple, and nutritious.

  • Flybaby- that makes sense. Nutrients getting to the cells quickly. Thx.
  • I wear glasses. No eyesight improvement yet. But I’ll try the carrot juicing, great idea simplyraw! I’m surprised that you’d have to juice them. I thought Vitamixing the carrots would be equivalent to juicing. Hmm. Can you point to an article about …
  • i ate consistently today – plenty of fruit. i need to drink more water. i had a large salad for breakfasst- unusual craving for me. : ) i had watermelon, kiwi, pear, then a huge complex dinner at a raw foods restaurant (green soup, sushi, dessert) a…
  • I’ve been having green smoothies in the morning, but I haven’t had enough fruits this week. I need to bring much more fruit to work for snacking – my lunches have been less than satisfying (1 large cucumber yesterday, 1 large avocado today – NOT eno…

  • Tonight I’m going to the store to stock up. I want to buy veg/fruits, nut butters, raw dressings ingredients, and coconuts. And I want to start sprouting! buckwheat, red lentils, etc. I’m having a hard time with salad dressings – that’s my only chal…
  • Skystrdust: I’m the same way! Smoothies in the morning, salad or fruit for lunhc, and crunchy in the evening. Drinking a green smoothie for breakfast helps me stave off hunger later in the day, normally. But today I’m hungrier than usual – I’ll be h…
  • Good luck at work, skystrdust. I had lots of raw vegan restaurant food yesterday. It’s my 4th week 99% raw. It was so fabulous to eat at raw restaurants, it’s REALLY hard to go back to eating simple food. I want to try and prepare more gourmet food,…
  • Pundee – Glad you liked the video! It gets very exciting when we look at the implications of eating raw… as a movement, as a force of change. There is so much potential for improving mental, emotional, and physical health – that if the raw lifestyle…
