  • mmm gazpacho! delicious. I think we need some inspiration. Check out this video: http://www.lifeandlove.tv/video.cfm/cid/2004/vi… He explains that raw foodists are changing society! We are having a positive effect on the world. “The significant heal…

  • I’m glad so many are interested. It’ll be a fantastic week!
  • I like lunch+snacks adding up to the largest meal. Salads and green smoothies at night keep it light so I can sleep well. Try that maybe?

  • Canned food isn’t raw. I recommend starting with lentils instead of the other beans. Dried Lentils, red or black, are very easy to sprout. They go well on salad. And they may be easier to digest than the other beans.
  • I really like the World Cuisine Spiral slicer that I got. It’s not good for thin carrots, but it can handle broccoli stems, cucumbers, zucchini, sweet potatoes, fat carrots, etc. It’s easy to use but does take a couple minutes to clean. The noodle s…

  • I have had two folks on goneraw recommend the World Cuisine Tri Blade Vegetable Slicer, on Amazon. I ordered it from a different site (look at google checkout to find it) and they said it will be available again on 4/30/08, apparently the company is…

  • I also like things I don’t mess up. In other words, if it’s a good dehydrator recipe and I prepare it right, i like it. If I mess it up, I really really don’t like it at all – i toss it quickly.
  • perhaps join us in the new to raw section – some of us are logging what we eat everyday, and we’ll be doing another 100% raw week long challenge. This has helped many of us to have the support of others and stick to raw for a week at a time (or long…
  • To keep costs low, I buy conventional produce in winter. In summer/fall, I purchase from a coop – $19 per week for a huge share of organic fruits/veggies! Sprouting sounds like a great idea as well.
  • I have the juiceman – i wouldn’t really recommend it. Instead, I mostly use the Vitamix to make OJ etc.
  • Important (by Victoria Boutenko) “For the sake of variety, I include several kinds of sprouts in my diet, but never more than a handful and only one or two times a week. Approximately from the third to the sixth day of their life, sprouts contain hi…

  • dreaminraw – i hear ya about hospital food. it’s a scary situation out there. I get angry when i see small children being fed fast food – they’re being exposed to disease and weight gain before they’re even 10 years old! How will they recover!

  • More fruit! I agree with mango women. And eat DIFFERENT fruit too, so you don’t get tired of one kind. I take to work a pear, an apple, pineapple, and watermelon one day – it might be an orange, canteloupe, strawberries, and blueberries the next day…
  • Hmm I still can’t decide to buy one. What raw foods do you need the dry blade for?
  • Tzefira: check out our “what are you eating” forum – we’re adding to it for the next week! http://www.goneraw.com/forums/8/topics/4271 Zooey – Drinking my green smoothies makes me feel like Swamp Thing! Aspire to be the Hulk.. Green but ripped.

  • I greatly recommend eat to eat raw food, sleep LOTS, reduce stress. Don’t use shampoo or any products at all. Don’t use a hair dryer or hair styler of any kind. Air dry your hair – it’s key! My hair is gorgeous when i follow all these requirements.

  • Greens! Hi there, you didn’t mention how many blended greens you consume. Try having a quart of blended greens a day (mix them in a high speed blender with fruit so they’re tasty) that might help!

  • Hmm good point about food preparation, ardesmond. I jumped into challenging recipes several times, and I wasn’t happy with the results. Stepping back, and trying 1 gourmet per week, has had better results. The rest of the time, it’s whole food or le…
  • I’ll try sprouting red or brown lentils. The little red ones sprout quickly, i bet. I always see them in the supermarket – they’re called “crunchy sprouts” and are recommended for use on salads. Psalm25 – I think some of us don’t use the sprouted be…
  • mtnflwr – excellent suggestion. it’s great that you’re helping him to make vegan choices. I’ve been vegetarian since I was a preteen, and I’m now appalled that I was given meat before I was old enough to understand that I was eating animal flesh. 12…
  • Same here, Luna. But the adults get ticked when I follow up with mentioning vegetarian… they think that what they eat is gross, but to suggest that they avoid killing for food? What a radical little girl, they say!
  • If kids love animals, they won’t want to eat them. Make the connection for her – take her to the zoo, have her meet cows, etc. Many kids i’ve asked – don’t want to think about where the meat comes from -when they think about it, they get grossed out…
