  • just take a piece of porous fabric (i used a mesh fabric to make clothes). fold in half. sew 2 intersecting sides. you don’t need a draw string. also, most “mylks” taste great unstrained. =)
  • patty708- i wouldn’t say i was “offended” by non-vegan choices. it’s just if, hypothetically, i were going to eat animal protein or by-products i would avoid the supermarket products at all costs. they are allowed to write whatever they want on thos…
  • i don’t get the carol alt thing actually. salt cured pork and unpasteurized yogurt? i hadn’t known until i read her books that you could take the raw thing to a non-vegan level. i personally don’t eat animal products, but i get the fish thing, ok. b…

  • i read in this book “eat smart, eat raw”, that raw vegans tend to have tooth sensitivities if they eat too frequently. this is because our food is harsh on the teeth… have you tried eating the traditional 3 times a day maybe?

  • LovefoodLaughter-i TOTALLY agree. instinctively this is what i am discovering for myself. the same “common sense” rules apply, whether raw or not. fresh (as opposed to dehydrated or cooked) makes me feel better, less fat makes me feel better, less c…
  • i don’t know. not enough greens? too much sugar? in rainbow green live food cuisine gabriel cousens differentiates between foods (even raw ones) which turn our “compost” button on (i.e. make our body start to self-destruct) and those that support th…
  • this is good info as i’m going to costa rica shortly. my family usually takes acidophilus pills before we travel. we never get sick. (but with so many things, who knows if that’s why!)... i noticed that my health food store sells a bottle of liquid …

  • hi! well, i usually leave everything in when i make hemp seed milk… BUT i use juice pulp to make a “pate” to fill nori rolls with… just the amount of rice you would use. super simple and a great way to get rid of leftovers. i would try mixing the mu…

  • i REALLY appreciate all the alternate wisdom here. not very many people i know would think to question bleeding… or cramps! i had my first—and so far last—period in july, a few weeks after becoming raw. it was miraculous! very light bleeding and NO …

  • first off, even if it was TWICE the price of eating “normally”, good health is not only it’s own reward, but it means no meds, vitamins, laxatives, etc… these are EXPENSIVE band-aids for people with poor nutrition. also, when i buy all greens (what …
