  • it still smells although not as strong as with pineapple. believe me i am not doing anything special to smell it, it just does! we have a “if it’s yellow let it mellow” philosophy but we had to change it due to me.

  • oh i have been eating more pineapple lately, actually, a lot at school. i didn’t have any today, i will sniff it out. LOL.

  • ok, this is good info. i do still take supplements (i am on month 5 of a 6 month treatment—almost done!) so that could be it. i might have too much of a certain nutrient in me that’s peeing out. i hope i am not diabetic, i don’t have any other sympt…

  • it does seem that people get a wave of fatigue at 2 weeks from detox. but if it persists, it could be deficiencies. if you are deficient in say, iron, it will take your body a while to build back stores. so keep at it, you’re doing great! but you ma…

  • sue I couldn’t do that. there is a reason i am all raw. kernels like that in my guts and the stuff i would put on it would just not sit well with my digestion. plus, if i gave into my cravings for alcohol i would become a huge mess. i have to identi…

  • not quite the same is the raw cauliflower popcorn. sadly. maybe some kind of raw cracker with fun spices in it? i just go for berries or raw ice cream. mmmm.

  • moth: thanks! i feel good too! struggling with a bit of low energy due to overworking but i have plenty of raw tools to draw on to keep me well. :-) lulushka8, i do think there is a lot of benefit to the additive approach. i think that eating health…

  • me and my husband strive for 100% daily. sometimes we use things that might be on the “dead list” like bragg’s but that is getting pretty rare for us.

  • Johnny, I saw this on 20/20 (well, the clip online), then read your profile. I can’t believe they didn’t say how much being raw HELPED you. As a person recovering from chronic illness with raw, this is ridiculous. I wish they would have focused on t…
  • yup i think that is pretty normal since you are so active. but i would add more greens too. i feel worse when i don’t have them.
  • i don’t miss burning my tongue! ouch!

  • shredded beets and orange juice with parsley—yuck. (might have been better juiced) juiced cabbage—double yuck! we broke the cuisinart blade the other day, but no funny story, just my husband almost eating a shard of the metal. :-O
  • I was not really able to get over my alcohol addiction until being raw. Although it was not as out of control as your cousin’s might be. I believe there are true biological roots for me, as it tends to run in my family. I had to develop ways to cope…

  • yup, i think you’ve got it. our bodies are different, so that is why we choose different things. some people simply like to try to challenge themselves and push themselves further whereas others are happier to move at a slower pace or the diet they …

  • i think everyone’s digestion is different. i have lost weight and i honestly have no clue about the combining rules. i eat fruit after meals because otherwise it would be lots of other sweet stuff. i have a sweet tooth what can i say? my body does n…
  • yeah i got it instead of nama shoyu but i can’t do too much of it. a good substitute is salt and lemon juice.

  • i do agree with the person who said it will get better over time, but you have to start listening to your body. do not worry about dead foods, etc, yet. there are many benefits to being high raw. although since you are so worried about feeling light…

  • oh poor you! i was away also and it definitely puts a strain on the raw thing. good for you from learning and realizing what’s best for your body
  • i think if you are already at your ideal weight, then you might not lose weight. your digestion could be sluggish and holding things up. i find that when I am losing weight my digestion is working very well. you may want to consider a colonic to mov…
  • i disagree. i need more fats than my man! http://bittsblog.blogspot.com/
  • sometimes you lose fat but don’t really lose much weight. i have lost about 25 pounds since being raw (about 4 months now). it’s a slow loss, it will come. be patient!
  • go to youtube and you can find some videos on how to do it.
  • i think i am like a lot of folks in occasionally giving in to things on the “dead foods” list. for example today i went to a restaurant and they gave me a salad with probably dead olive oil and most likely roasted seeds. i am just not dogmatic enoug…

  • you can slow detox by adding cooked food into your diet (such as sweet potato or whole grains) but you can also just make your raw diet heavier with nuts and fats. coconut oil too.
