  • swimming in chlorine is rough, one of the reasons i don’t do it as much as i used to. i saw what it did to my swimsuit and wondered what it was doing to me! i think if you are raw that you can be more sensitive to the environment so i wonder if i wo…

  • hi liz. i have just been reading “raw success” by matt monarch. it explains some of these issues you are going through. for one, ideally humans are designed to eat less. so it makes sense that you weren’t eating too much. however, eating this way ca…

  • teade. i think everyone has some great advice for you. you have to find what works best for you. i just quit drinking for good (after going on and off for months) a few months ago. it was hard! at first i had to get myself out of places where i used…

  • go raw mom yeah i think cacao is a little to the evil side but it’s better than so many other things out there (like coffee) so i go to the dark side now and again. BJ sounds so cute. I am so glad he is finding his raw journey rewarding.

  • that’s a cute story. i am so happy for your sons! i’ve been reading that it takes less time for them to detox back to health than adults. maybe they also feel the effects quicker? you’ve got a lot more time to have build bad habits, ones that are ha…

  • i get the nibs because they are so much cheaper. they blend easily in the blentec (seconds really). i also bulk ordered them online and that is a LOT cheaper.

  • i am curious as to why you went back to eating SAD, for curiousity, convenience, health? i guess it seems like it was an experiment. i too have done that. when i had been off wheat for 10 years and hadn’t had a reaction in several years, i wondered …
  • i’m sure the only reason why most of us had them is that the school system requires it. vaccinations have been linked to autism and therefore it is just oo much of a risk in my opinion. maybe you can convince your mom to let you go to a natural doct…
  • it depends on what you want. it’s nice to have some special things that take longer sometimes. but there are some great recipes that take very little prep. you can search them by equipment on this site. that might help.

  • i am glad you had your levels checked. i thought maybe i had b-12 deficiency and i didn’t either. it is great to check and make sure though. good for you!

  • i noticed that awhile ago. i was low on iron so you may want to check to see if you are getting enough. dried fruits like apricots and raisins, pumpkin seeds, and wheatgrass as well as other dark leafys are good for iron.
  • i just ate one and usually i lick out the skin. i realized my lips get slightly numb after even though i wash my face. probably a slight reaction. worth it though!
  • i used to use glad rags all the time but now i work at a place where we just have stalls. not the right environment to be playing with all that stuff. i find tampons drying. i am debating between the diva cup and sea sponge. which is better for bath…

  • i just throw one into most recipes that call for something savory. also you can make onion bread (recipe on here).
  • I skipped breakfast and lunch and slept a lot. Then I woke up very dizzy. I ate half a melon. Oh well, I tried! Good luck everybody who is doing it Monday!
  • I woke up and didn’t feel like eating anything. i’m still debating due to a raw food meetup today (although I suppose i could go and not eat). Mainly because i am detoxing from this medication i feel like maybe it is a sign to let my body rest from …
  • i have done water fasts before with little success because i was still eating cooked food. i didn’t realize that the cooked food hunger pangs were from acidity in the stomach. i am still recovering from an illness right now so i think i will wait lo…
  • i consider it essential to take a supplement or pharmaceutical when there is a life-threatening illness at stake. maybe there won’t be a point where you can stop taking them. but if it is meds or being severely ill, then i choose the former. this co…
  • rawbeginner—i’m in seattle too. it has been awful here lately. we are considering a move. everyone in seattle needs vitamin D. the best thing to do is see what vitamins you are low in through a blood test. then you can supplement until your levels a…
  • we just blended it. didn’t soak them. we didn’t get the right consistency but i always put it in things so it was fine. basically, i don’t think there is a way to screw it up.

  • I am in seattle. I went to the Tummy Temple.
  • Hmm, I’ve never done a salt water flush but I would say the benefit of the flush is that you get the small intestine too. Whereas the colonic just gets the colon. But I think I would rather not drink all that stuff. I’ve done it for a sigmoidoscopy …
  • So the colonic went well today. There was some impacted stuff that felt good to get out. The main message from the guy who did it (who was excellent) was that my colon is a good health! It wasn’t too uncomfortable and it felt good being the hands of…
  • Well I have had a video camera jammed up there for health reasons (sigmoidoscopy) and it did not hurt too bad. So I hope this is more pleasant. I’ll let you know!
  • I am going on Wednesday for my first time. I’m a little nervous. What does it feel like? I know good afterwards, but during???
  • waterbaby, an enema just cleans the lower part of the large intestine, the colon, whereas the colonic does the entire thing. correct me if i am wrong.
  • does anyone have insurance that pays for it? i am trying to find a way around the $80 fee.
  • i need to do one. i have been so constipated lately. i think it’s time.
  • i am growing all my own herbs. and i am trying to eat mostly from farmer’s markets this summer. it is still as expensive as the supermarket, but the money goes directly to the farmer and the produce is much fresher and more varied. i have had succes…
