  • Tell your friends and family you want to go raw - they will think you're some kind of freak, tell you not to be so stupid and that you shouldn't do it. That may help you! :-)

  • I got a cheap second hand excaliabur from ebay. It's only a baby 4 tray but suits me perfectly as I'm only making stuff for me. I'm pleased I've got it but don't tend to use it more than about once every week or so.
  • Date paste is good. To make your own, soak dates and blend with a dash of water. Ripe bananas are another way to add sweetness.
  • Please don't take this the wrong way sweet but it seems like you spin out when anyone suggests what you are eating is not good for you. It's good to take what others say onboard but a little himalayan salt is not the end of the world. It's just abou…
  • If you want to read about someone else's experiences with going LFRV, try this: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2007/12/30-days-raw/

  • That's a very good point durianrider. What you've eat the day before does make a huge difference.

  • First and most importantly, don't beat yourself up about this. It will def happen again at some point so you have to just learn from it and move on. I used to be so down on myself for eating something bad but I found this v detrimental to my state o…

  • I'm the same with raw broccoli, I really like it but the last time I ate it raw, I had serious bloating/gas issues. I eat it steamed now as I'm not 100%. I'd agree with the others and leave out the foods which cause you problems.
  • I like the suggestion of cucumbers, might give it a go. Good question Kitty, I'd also be interested to know.
  • Just thought I'd post a quick update to say that a week after my first reflexology session I got my period! I'm really pleased and would recommend this kind of treatment to anyone. :-)

  • Thanks for the link Blue_Eyes, will have a read later. I'm certainly not 100% - mainly high raw, but always vegan. I'd be fine about not having periods as long as I'm still ovulating - trying to get pregnant you see. :-)

  • Too many years of being on the pill has probably thrown my hormones out of whack. :-( Trying not to freak out as apparently it's v common and getting stressed will only make it worse.

  • Ha ha ha! You crack me up durianrider. :-)
  • That is ridiculous! I'm feeling quite angry about that.

  • Pink Passion Flower, I love your blog! Really entertaining! Keep up the great work. Oh, and if you could get your husband to rub off some of his magic dust onto my BF, it would be much appreciated!

  • You don't need to be an avid athlete to eat lots of fruit. You are very active anyway so I wouldn't worry! This post will no doubt generate LOTS of responses as people on this site are very pro-fruit. (Me included!)

  • You're right sisterbecky....when my meat&potatoes loving boyfriend first started having green smoothies with me for breakfast, he said it sent him running to the loo! He did get used to it after a while though. :-)

  • You can enter everything you eat into www.fitday.com and it will work out calories, fat/carb/protein %'s. It's really helpful to use when you first start raw. Everyone's different in terms of the intake of calories they feel best on, but there are o…
  • Sounds like you're doing really well! I struggled giving up feta before I became vegan. This raw cheese is a great substitute: http://goneraw.com/recipe/cheese-spring-onions Enjoy!
  • I live in Manchester too! I take it you've been into the Eight Day on Oxford Rd? Lots of great stuff in there. When it comes to blenders, unless you want to make lots of really smooth soups, IMHO I don't think there's much need for an expensive blen…

  • I like sun-dried tomato pate (http://goneraw.com/recipe/sun-dried-tomato-pate) with strips of peppers, cucumber and sprouts. Mmm, may have to make myself some now. It's been such a long time since I had them.
  • Hey lulushka8, was wondering where you were at these days. Long time no post. Hope all is well. :-)
