  • I have a girlfriend who goes on an apple fast. She consumes nothing but apples and apple juice/water. After her fast she drinks like 1/4 cup olive oil. She does it every time the seasons change. I have never tried it but she says she feels better an…

  • Hi Kathryn. Pretty name! I’ll pray for you to keep your strength up.
  • What do you miss? Temperature? Texture? What are you missing? I don’t eat 100% raw; I had two bowls of minestrone for dinner tonight. High winds in IA and some flurries. Colorful picture, blanket from Pier One?

  • Juice of a mango, a splashes of lime, a touch of cayenne…it tasted good to me but unsure if that’s allowed on this diet. I had that before and it tasted good to me. It was a salad dressing on Rachael but she had EVOO in it.
  • I am new; I do not know 811. What link can I go to?
  • Hi Danielle. I’m new to this too! I have been considering this and decided to do it as well. Today is my third day. I signed up last night and was unable to get my photo up also.
  • Good idea Angie! I was thinking of making some for the daycare kids down the street. I was trying to think of another festive treat. There was a recipe called “Rotten Eggs” which consisted of 1/2 a peach laying on vanilla pudding (colored w/ green f…
  • Aaron (my middle son) is excited to start. He chose two recipes off of this site. The boo-nanners and a savory sweet and sour. As long as I let them pick the recipes it’s fun for all of us!
  • I’ll check it out, thanks!
  • I am going to start w/ the easy recipes like a cabbage mango slaw etc. We love fruits and veggies, I also can and dehydrate to preserve. We’re going shopping for the Sabbath so we’re going to splurge a little on some new ingredients. I let my 15 yea…
  • I agree! I’m going to serve them occasionally and phase other items out! My rule is that they have to try everything but they don’t have to like it. My sixteen year old is not too mobile so he will enjoy raw once he starts.
  • I made a great thanksgiving turkey once. I used a cantelope for the body; skewers w/ colorful fruits and veggies for feathers, and my son colored a picture of a turkey head that we put in w/ a tooth pick. It was really cute. It was a few years ago…I…
  • A sage and rosemary tea w/ a drop of olive oil may be a good spritz to consider for inbetween washings if it itches. I was reading about homemade shampoos last night. I suds up my hair but was researching alternatives and sage/rosemary were good…so …
  • Has anyone tried this? http://www.lime.com/planet/stuff_we_like/1444/s…
  • And don’t forget spiritual food ;)
  • What about substitutions newbies can use for raw. Here’s a non raw example: no buttermilk so vinegar+milk+butter no oil when baking a cake so use unsweetened applesauce Is there non raw substitutes that newbies don’t think of so that we can take our…
  • Thanks, I'll try that. I was just thinking about a 2 in 1 thing. I'll try that for the scalp and then try something for the ends. Coconut oil?
  • I've gone five days without shampoo but every day I feel yucky AND everyday I'm rinsing w/ vinegar water, lemon juice or baking soday. So, I'm still washing everyday, just no chemicals. I feel like a greaseball buy my hair is happier I can tell.
