  • I love celery and almost always put a stalk in my green smoothies and it usually goes in my salad every day. As jgfergus wrote it’s loaded with all kinds of nutritious and beneficial properties.

  • Thanks for the info on the excaliber MontrealMommy. I think I’m going to get one.
  • I have been thinking of ordering an excaliber dehydrator and was wondering about the noise level when it’s running. Someone had said it was pretty loud. I live in a 3 room apartment with no doors between rooms. Bedroom is right next to the kitchen. …
  • A good raw bread recipe would be so nice. I’m finding regular bread the hardest thing to give up.
  • Yes very slow or finally get the Something went wrong page.
  • I just had an Easter meal with some friends who don’t know I’m trying to be raw. I made the Thai Slaw recipe from this site and brought it to the dinner. Everyone loved it. I’m not 100% yet and did end up eating a little more cooked food than I norm…

  • My 2 adult cats go nuts over coconut milk…they love it. I’ve only given it to them on rare occasions and they’ve only had the unsweetened canned kind. I think it’s ok to give as an occasional treat but certainly not as substitute for mothers milk fo…
  • Today – Detox Tea. Bowl of mixed fruit: Strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, mango, orange, apple, pear and papaya with lime juice. Cooked quinoa with brazil nuts. 8 oz. Black Sesame milk. Miso soup: Miso, cabbage, shitake mushrooms, spring onions, ginger…
  • I love garlic and use it a lot. The smell has never bothered me, even on someone’s breath. I actually like the smell. I do notice that occasionally when I eat a lot of garlic, onions or cayenne that it makes my head feel a little weird…kind of space…
  • I agree this daily diet does seem a bit sparse. I only weigh 102 but eat a lot more than that most days. Some days that would probably be ok for me. Now I see that you only weigh 140. Maybe just a bit more would be better. Especially since it sounds…

  • Color doesn’t matter. I think darker would probably be stronger. Miso can be made from various things. Usually soybeans, but can also be made from chick peas, adzuki beans and probably other beans as well. So, this would make the color vary dependin…

  • Yes, Just add a Tablespoon or so to a cup of warm water. You can make it as strong or as weak as you like.

  • I make miso soup and then add chopped shitake mushrooms, shredded cabbage, minced ginger, spring onions and hemp seeds. Makes a good and hearty soup with the hemp seeds added. You can add any vegetables you like.

  • I agree. I would definitely look at what Gabriel Cousens has to say. He is very knowledgable.
  • jenergy, I think my day of eating goes about like yours. I think I’m about 75 – 80% raw. But I really struggle with dinner. I work 9 hour days and then work out for 1 – 1 1/2 hrs. I just don’t even want to think when I get home much less try to come…
  • Wow! This sounds really nice. I live in New England so this would be easy to get to for me. I will check your website. Thanks.
  • A year ago I spent at least $100 a week on food just for myself. I’m sure it is probably more than that now. I’ll have to save all my receipts for a week and check it out.
  • Interesting point RCBAlive about the fats and sugars combo. Hulda Clark also wrote a book… I think the title is The cure for Cancer in which she believes it’s all caused by parasites. But, like someone else said many doctors don’t even recognize Can…
  • I think it all comes down to the individuality of everyone’s body. I would waste away and dry up if I cut my fat down to 10%. I think I’ve always eaten a fair amount of fat raw or SAD and have had a tendency to be underweight all my life. Of course …

  • I’ve used the Badger 15 SPF too and found it to be one of safest. I just wish it wasn’t so greasy. But I’ll put up with it rather than use some of the others with questionable ingredients. I read recently that one of the main ingredients in most all…

  • Anything you can do to reduce stress should be helpful. Getting enough sleep is important to. I never get enough sleep and think it makes me less able to cope with stress. Almonds are the most alkaline of all nuts I believe, or maybe it should be sa…

  • I did a seven day juice fast at Dr. Cousens Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center a couple years ago and we were checking our urine pH in the morning every day. He said it would be more on the acid side at the beginning of the fast due to detox I guess. …

  • I was a little disappointed with this book too. I expected a little more definitive guidance too, and more recipes. I think David Wolfe is fairly knowledgeable but a bit over-rated. Didn’t know anything about the plagiarism issue.

  • I think the champion is a great juicer. I’ve had mine 25 years and it has held up really well. The only downfall is that it does not juice leafy greens well at all. If you are going to be juicing greens there are other juicers that do a better job.
  • I was wondering the same thing. I would only be using a dehydrator for myself and thought the 5 tray would be sufficient, plus I have limited space for equipment. Is the 5 tray enough for one person?
  • http://www.livingnutz.com/ in Maine. Don’t know about the prices. I haven’t done a lot of comparison shopping. I’ve ordered from them several times and have been very impressed with the quality of everything I’ve ordered.
  • Breads, chips, and anything salty and crunchy. Butter and cheese. Although, I have noticed after being high raw for a while and then going back to eating some of these things they taste really funny to me and kind of disappointing. But still have cr…
  • Does the blender method of juicing produce as much juice as you get from say a Greenstar juicer? I have a champion. I’ve had it since 1983 and it’s gotten tons of usage and I think it’s a great juicer but it really does not juice greens well at all.…
