  • Everything in moderation? Poor health in moderation? I never understood that comment. Cigarettes and cocaine in moderation? Unprotected sex here and there as long as it's not more than once a week? I think to say fruits and vegetables in abundance; …
  • Simple helps!!!! :) To the OP, I hope you feel better. Just give it a couple days and get plenty of hydration and rest :)
  • Hey, I'm sorry you're very unhappy. I think most of us have been there and that's why we made changes as well, so we feel you and offer our hugs!! I, too, used to experience what might have been sugar lows when I ate cooked food. Now, on high fruit,…
  • Also, I don't think your age is important. I don't think we can invalidate your feelings or your thoughts due to your age, and someone who does could possibly be "closed minded" :p
  • That's just my opinion, though - and I think people who have seen my posts notice I'm honest and you either like that or not. I think the way I think. Doesn't mean I dislike someone who thinks different. Still, why would you criticize or think so mu…
  • I don't know.....I think it's strange to write a whole post in critique of what others choose to say or not say. Who's being closed minded here?
  • If you're going for health, I would add little or preferably no spices, salt, oils, salty processed foods like nama shoyu/bragg's, etc., to your food.
  • If you don't feel like eating what you're buying by itself, I'd buy different ones next time and only buy things that sound good to eat plain....
  • I don't call anything dried a superfood.
  • I had super duper special healthy 8 c. of blueberries, 5 c. raspberries, and an apple. Delicious!
  • i agree that if it feels good for you, go for it, but it seems to be low on calories, fruit, and darky leafy vegetables.

  • Regular exercise helps. Even your regular exercise and then in addition add some things like jump rope or backbends in the middle of the day when the cold bug gets you.
  • I would definitely have a glass of water with your glass of wine if you partake!
  • Maybe people should put their location and preferences (their sex, the sex(es) they like, etc.). :)
  • I'm in the LGBT community!
  • I would increase your fresh fruit, decrease your nuts (or eliminate them for a bit).
  • Good job. Might help you to think of the "chicken" you are eating as "chickenS," formerly living beings that are killed based on the demand of people who buy the flesh products.
  • Animals do produce B12 (including humans) but not as much is available as there use to be.
  • I don't think your natural diet would include your processed cereals and nuts. If you lived near the equator (as we all need sunshine as well as tropical fruits), you could live your natural diet of fruits and vegetables seasonally and locally. Wher…
  • (When vegans have artificially made B12 supplements, that, too, is cheating.) As for B12, you don't seem to have read up on this issue. ALL foods that have B12 are supplemented, even animal based. Look at the feed that chickens, cows, pigs, and othe…
  • I'm not surprised you didn't feel well. Guacamole and hummus are high in fat, number one, and then you're combining legumes with starchy vegetables. Have you tried green smoothies? Humans meant to eat raw? I certainly don't think cooked food is doin…
  • There's probably a few other things that they or you choose to do that the other doesn't. It'll be fine! Just make sure you have enough fruit/raw calories around so you're not tempted (assuming the presence of cooked food). :)
  • As for me, I'm just eating fruit and greens like I normally do, I think. If my friends want to hang out (they're vegan or mostly vegetarian), maybe I'll make a special raw dessert but I doubt it.

  • Carrie, is that the first solid food you're eating after your juice feast? I'd be careful about all of that processed, poorly combined, high fat raw first off and especially on a holiday and not at your home - you may not feel well!!!

  • GREENS!! :D I would only do a feast of green juices. I think other types don't have the same effect.
  • Thanks for bringing this up, too. BUT as for this statement, "and not totally 100% raw because I still know the dangers of restriction," many of us who have been 100% raw would tell you there's no restriction involved at all with the high-fruit life…
  • I'm with you but I don't think 10% of calories (or so) from protein is "low." I think it's just what our bodies need.
  • If you find cold-pressed AND unfiltered, it may be considered raw.

  • I would just bring my own food and not mention being a raw foodist or benefits of doing so.
  • I've used coconut oil and butter on my skin. The butter is a whole food product so it has coconut "meat" in it as well and may not dissolve on contact/with heat as well, but I think both are fine.
