  • Sure, no problem. For no shampoo, you can use baking soda as a “wash” and apple cider vinegar as a rinse. I don’t have many tangles at all!

  • Oh, boy, not with the religious stuff again…..not everyone believes in “god.” (meaning it’s not necessary to mention these fictitious beings in every post, especially when it has nothing to do with the topic, just as the atheists don’t mention their…

  • Everyone is different.
  • You can lose weight eating cooked food….. Yes, in answer to your question. I eat more than that. But I didn’t need nor want to lose weight when I became a raw foodist.
  • Lulushka, I eat and feel better eating some fats as well (saw you posted that in another thread and just thought of it) – just do what works for you! The person I am seeing hadn’t even heard of veganism before, let alone raw foodism, but he is so op…
  • I don’t live with my (omni) boyfriend, but I am over there at his place a lot. If he cooks eggs, he opens the windows. I make him vegan cooked and raw food a lot and he has those to heat up if he wants. He tries to have fruit available for me and he…

  • I don’t think wanting a partner to change is a good quality in YOU. You can think, “Oh, he’s perfect except….” but on HIS hand, maybe you’d be perfect if you’d just accept and love him for who he is, not who he is not. I love my omni guy to pieces.
  • Honestly, I thought dating a vegan when I was a vegan was the way to go (and I wasted about 5 years thinking this), but just because someone is vegan does NOT mean you will be physically attracted to them, does not mean they are nice, does not mean …
  • You don’t have to convince anybody of anything. It’s your life. If they don’t show you respect, don’t talk to them about it, and make this clear.
  • That’s a slippery slope, making yourself your image instead of who you are. You’ll be more happy if you love yourself.
  • We can’t guess what will happen to you. Are you doing cardio?
  • I don’t understand the first paragraph at all.
  • I wouldn’t use the Vita-Mix for nut butters and seed butters, typically. I would use a regular food processor. You can put your attachments in the freezer for about 10 min. before starting to chill them and chill your nuts or seeds.

  • What do you mean when you say your hair is falling out? Most people lose 50-100 strands a day. Can you quantify it so someone might be better able to answer your answer?
  • You don’t need a DHA supplement, but sometimes I think people take it for ease of mind or because they have actually found out that their body doesn’t convert EFAs well. I disagree that anyone needs a vitamin D supplement as well. I think 30 min. in…
  • He is probably deficient in every important nutrient for antioxidation and cell regenerization.
  • HOw terible that you want truth in advertising….this isn’t limited to raw foodists…. MOST people want truth in what they buy. I guess that’s why you have to read the fine print. Just note it for next time and move on with a smile. :D
  • My fiber is UP there most days. I eat about 20 cups of salad. Love it! But I have made flax-basil-sundried tomato pizza crusts (no fat added like restaurants do) and eaten them and been fine. That’s probably 2/3 c. flax each.
  • I have that book, too!
  • Thanks. I used to like their jarred sun-dried tomatoes (not raw, obviously), but I haven’t seen their dried ones. Will keep a look out!
  • Yeah, tear the kale, rinse it, salt it (and maybe rub a little olive oil into it, too), let it set and soften, chop it finer (if desired), and rinse again. Voila!
  • No, I eat about 20 cups of salad a day, no joke! And it’s usually half or more kale. I eat a ton of fruit, too.
  • Troubles, I eat superfoods in that I eat kale almost every single day along with a salad dressing that has lots of extras (seaweed flakes for iodine, Brazil nuts for selenium, flax, hemp, etc.). I don’t think I consume the “superfoods” that some wou…
  • I guess all [real] vegans, not the ones that you just say are vegan but aren’t, are “religious” to you, since it’s a lifestyle that encompasses a thoughtful way of living that does not harm other living beings and does not use animal products. Even …
  • Just to add, some people get upset and defensive when told the definition of veganism, as if I were critiquing them personally. I’m just informing, as is common, since people want to be vegan or have the label, as to the proper definition. I wouldn’…
  • If you eat honey and use leather, any products tested on animals and/or containing animal ingredients, you are not a vegan. You would correctly refer to yourself as a vegetarian, assuming you don’t eat actual animals’ body parts (though those are co…
  • The benefits of agave v. honey is that agave is vegan and cruelty-free, of course. And I think it’s purer and tastes better, but that’s just an opinion. There is no question, however, that honey is an animal product taken from bees and this is explo…
  • I tend to believe that the agave labeled as raw is actually raw. I have no reason not to believe so, except other people’s speculations (such as stated here).
