Change in eye colour

I’ve been reading info on changes in eye colour and read somewhere that a raw food diet can cause changes in someone’s eye colour and/or make the colour of the iris lighter.

Has anyone experienced this or would know more on the topic?

  • My eyes have always been an olivey-gold-brown color. My younger brother, when he was a child, called them ‘autumn leaf eyes”. Well, since going raw, they look a very clear green color – the brown/gold centers seem to have diappeared. I chalked it up to my imagination, because I’d heard eye color lightened when raw and wanted it to happen.

A couple of weeks ago I was at a commercial shoot and as I was getting dressed, the makeup artist asked what color my eyes were. I told her hazel. Later, as she was touching up my makeup on set, she said “I always thought hazel eyes were brownish green, but yours are blue/green.” I couldn’t believe it! I’m not imagining it – my eyes are lighter and clearer!!

All this coincided with my father’s visit. He picked up my copy of “Raw Food Real World” and mockingly said, “I want to get the glow!” I said “Hey, don’t knock it – it works” and he replied “Well, you DO seem to be glowing.”

Raw makes you beautiful inside and out!

  • Wow, so I see a lot of people have noticed eye colour changes on a raw diet.

This gives me hope as I have dark brown eyes and have always wanted a lighter colour.

SarahJ mentioned that detox affects the amount of yellow in the eyes. Does anyone know of any other possible reasons raw foodism may cause a change in eye colour or is it all just detox?

  • How long did it take before you all noticed the change in color?

Yes! mine have gotten lighter, and bluer! (they used to be brown, then green, now green/grey/blue!!) Iv been raw around 6 months+! :)

  • I’ve seen the change of color in people from the typical SAD diet to vegan and not even totally raw.

  • hey kendra i was just thinking the same thing, i am african and i have brown eyes, but i did see a black baby with beautiful blue eyes on you tube ,you might wanna see, may be they do change to a lighter color eventually, i guess we have to find out eventually

  • wow, i never thought about it before but mine are hazel but the green in my eye is really popping! this is so cool!

  • hey kauaigirl! Ya i have dark brown eyes all my life and i was wondering if my eyes could change like yours. How long did it take you to notice and what did you do to change it? Please help! ive always wanted a different color!

  • this may be off topic, but is it possible for ur facial structure to change? i was looking at pics of me before raw and after and my face has changed. the eyes seem bigger and there is more of a defined jawbone

  • I really want to change my eye color and be healthy! i also have deep dark brown eyes and need some advice on how to change my eye color . Please help and thanks

  • Great to see this topic kept going after all this time.

Another couple of questions to those who experienced an eye colour change, how much of your diet changed and how long were you raw before you noticed a change in eye colour?

  • You guys are lucky. I HATE my eyes with such a passion. They're dark brown. I looked all over the internet, and all I really found was some hypnosis thingy. I don't want to pay though...I'm poor. Anyway, how do you dark eyed folks get light eyes? I can't eat raw food, though, my mom would "spank my face".

So cool...I want my eye color to change...maybe to a light brown that would be awesome. I have dark brown eyes.

I will try to go 100% raw and see if anything happens

  • HI!!!

How long have you been eating raw that your eyes have changed color?

Also i read that most peoples eyes have gone back to what their baby eye color was... i was born with amazing grey eyes but now they are brown.

Can any one take a guess at how long it would take for my eyes to change color?

  • I had very dark blueish toned but darkish gray eyes when I was around one month old +- but now have brown with just a tad of gold. Would anyone think it's possible to get some of my original color back through going on a raw diet?

  • Hate to break it to you but If you are of african decent it is very very unlikely that your eyecolour will become green/blue or even a lighter shade of brown. A healthy diet/cleanse will make your eyes healthier, sharper, and there may other changes such as in the white of your eyes. The black baby with blue eyes that can be seen on the internet most likely has some european genetics in him, an offshoot from way back. Interestingly there are some north african peoples who may have light coloured eyes and even "red" hair (the berbers I think). This is fascinating and these people are apparently a mix of african european and probly some arab. Anyway enjoy the health benefits of good food but dont hold youre breath for eye colour change. People with green/hazel eyes report eye colour change the most often.

    cheers!

Eyes Changing Color on a Raw Vegan Diet - Full Explanation:

    Hi Guys,

Happy to explain, as this has been happening to me, and I have researched it to find out more:

Essentially we are born with the color our core genetics dictate, and over time (in my case already as a toddler) various external factors, especially food, alter the color of the eye, based on the colors of substances in our body. There is a correlation between the color and the structure of specific areas in the eye and the health and toxicity levels of specific areas in the body.

As I am getting healthier, my eyes are showing more and more of the color I was born with. In my case it is blue, and other cases can be brown (there are also different shades of each of course).

Different color eyes have to do with one kidney being stronger than the other in clearing that side of the body.

I packed all the resources I use here:

    Hope this is helpful.

    Reut
