Thank you Shele24, Right after I posted my question I called the company who makes the Oatmeal and they told me the same thing. They heat it before they package it.
A good rule of thumb is that most packaged items are not raw unless they’re specifically labeled ‘raw,’ and even then their definition of ‘raw’ can be a little fuzzy. Just because they didn’t cook/heat the item doesn’t mean all of the ingredients they used were truly raw to begin with.
You can use oat groats… germinate them… and make your oatmeal blended with bananas, apples, raisins, raw honey/agave, sea salt…
I recommend germinating for up to 48 hours (although 24 is recommended), changing the water 3-4 times a day.
