  • I think if we have too much vinegar there could be digestion problems (too much of anything can be bad). But in moderation, I don't see a problem, especially if it is mixed with foods that will help to even out the overall ph of the meal. I hope I'm…

  • Hi Bonnie. My favorite super food has always been blueberries.  Congrats on deciding to go raw. You won't regret it.

  • You're welcome!
  • It all looks good so far.  What type of mushrooms are you using for the stuffed mushrooms?
  • The raw spring rolls sound really good.  Good luck!
  • Hi. Broccoli is eaten raw by a lot of people, and not just raw vegans. It's usually served with dip or in a salad.
  • Hi  You could try cinnamon, cloves or fennel in place of ginger in sweet recipes - depending on the recipe.  A bit of garlic in place of onion.  Walnuts in place of some nuts and seeds. Pears instead of apples.  The possibilities are endless!  …

  • Easing into it is probably one of the best ways, Mich. The body will react negatively to any sudden major changes, even if they are good ones, but it won't if you go slow enough to be sneaky. lol
  • Welcome to going raw!  Where do you live? There is a ton of advice in the forum. You just have to take a peek around to find it.

  • I think you are pretty incredible to be cutting down on smoking while changing your diet to mostly raw. That is a lot of change to go through!  Everyone detoxes differently, so I can't say how long yours will last, but I've rarely heard of acne las…
  • Hawk, I hope you are feeling better.  Could the carrots (and maybe the beet) have been too strong for first thing in the morning on an empty stomach? Personally, I have to majorly dilute carrot juice with other juices or it will be too harsh.
  • Dates can definitely be addictive. That and dried apricots. I like to mix it up a little.

  • Angelleh, I would go with parchment paper if you are worried. I've heard that teflex is covered in teflon. I'm guessing that it's only a concern if heated, but I know that the worry alone would probably keep me up at night. Why stress when there are…
  • I think it is a bit of an acquired taste. In the beginning, I used to despise it, but now I have grown to appreciate it in a few recipes. I think what you are eating it with really makes a difference. There are a lot of foods that tahini simply does…
  • Welcome aboard! Every experience is a learning experience.   Do you have a travel blender? Mine helps me to stay (mostly) on track while out and about exploring the world.

  • Ha! I can't believe I read cleanse as cheese.  If you haven't found it already, the cleanse should be at: https://www.therawtarian.com/course/low-fat-raw-cleanse I think only TRK members can view it.
  • Do you mean the cheese sauce? https://www.therawtarian.com/raw-cheese-sauce While I was looking for it, I ran across the raw cheesecake. I know what I will be making this evening.
  • This thread just made my heart a little warmer.

  • I think I just found some of what I will be eating next week! Thank you for posting the links, Bethd! They look scrumptious.
  • I tried everything under the sun and what it came down to was taking a few minutes every morning and night to absorb the oil completely with a dry towel (in addition to a regular cleaning routine). If there is no oil, there is nothing to clog the po…

  •   You'll get there. I know Missemy https://www.therawtarian.com/community/f/profile/comments/3399/missemy posted a few times about Hep C. I don't know if she found a long term solution, but it might be worth looking through her old posts.
  • Hi, Fergie. Welcome to the community. A good diet can help with so many things, even if it just ends up supporting our overall health and gives us the strength to fight on. I hope you find some useful info!
  • It sounds like things have been hard. I hope they get better. *hugs* If you move to a state for a while (at least a year) and settle there before starting school, you can usually get in-state tuition. There are a few different factors that they con…

  • What are you eating? Some raw foods (broccoli comes to mind) can be hard on digestion. You also need to find the right balance. Too much of any one thing can cause problems.
