  • Congrats on starting. Nuts and bananas are good starter foods to add in. The first has plenty of protein and the latter is pretty filling. Avocado is another heavy/filling food.
  • Fee said: I've never had a cherimoya :-(  They're hard to come by, but sometimes they pop up among the exotic fruits at the grocery store.
  • That's great. :) Sometimes there are successes. I would say that is a huge one.
  • There is one way to find out!

  • It's hard to tell if that's floaters, a medical issue, or the imprint of gems from Candy Crush still floating through your vision. How are you feeling otherwise, Korn?
  • I introduce a new food into the house each week with the hope that some will stick. Some weeks are more successful than others. We had a cherimoya this time, which I was sure would win over the non-believers, because it's essentially the custard of …
  • I just glare at them until they give in.
  • That is a tough one. Nutritional yeast has such a distinct flavor. Maybe look at the recipe for the raw alfredo sauce and see if you can create something cheesy with the ingredients? https://www.therawtarian.com/raw-alfredo-sauce-recipe
  • I haven't read it, but I know your pain when it comes to having to cook two meals. I still find myself doing it sometimes just to keep everyone happy.
  • That all sounds delicious! How was chocolate day?
  • What are you making, Crystals? There is something I love about this time of year.

  • Welcome back! I followed it on over when it switched locations.
  • There is nothing like a good soup at this time of year. Congrats on the savings!

  • My limit is about 3 or 4. I guess I'm a wimp?
  • Welcome to being raw vegan!  I reuse jars of various sizes and have some glass tupperware (it still has plastic lids). It's a bit of a mix.

  • Maybe make a recipe with a layer of carob, or "carob chips" - something that doesn't have you combining the carob with the entire recipe. That way only part will be carob while the rest will remain untainted by the flavor. Hopefully you'll grow to l…

  • Do you ever have access to fresh dates? They taste good and you can dehydrate them yourself, so there are less overall worries about if a supplier is actually doing what they claim.

  • It's great that your teeth are seeing some improvements.  My skin sees the biggest improvement. My weight also stays really regulated instead of bouncing around like crazy, so that is a huge bonus.

  • Wow. I never knew there was any danger involved in eating raw chia seeds. I've done it more times than I can count. Thanks for sharing the article, LushKoko.
  • I love that smoothie! The Vitamix does make a world of difference. Do you have a food processor? Putting the spinach through that first might help.

  • Do you have room for a garden at your house? Fresh veggies growing in the garden (I love freshly picked snow peas!) are a huge incentive to stay raw.
  • It can be done.  It just takes some patience, but it is well worth it in the end.
  • You're welcome and you're definitely not alone here.
  • From personal experience, I know that my blood pressure goes down right along with my weight. I don't doubt that eating raw and healthier (fewer unhealthy fats, sodium, etc) will help reduce it as well.  As for breaking the bad foods habit, all I c…
