  • My food processor has a slicing blade that I use. It gets everything much thinner than I could do by hand!
  • That is really so sweet!
  • When I gave up coffee, I started drinking green tea quite a bit. It isn’t raw, of course, but really helped me get over the feeling that I need coffee each day. It has a bit of caffeine, but a nutritionist once told me that the caffeine is counterba…
  • This is a feature we’ll likely add in the future. For now, you could unpublish a recipe to have it not show in the recipe lists.
  • somanybookssolittletime, You can limit your recipe search here on Gone Raw to include only recipes that do not use a dehydrator, food processor, etc. To do this, go to the recipe page and, at the bottom, uncheck items in the Restrict List by Equipme…

  • Food Front is still alive and well! It was The Daily Grind in SE on Hawthorne. I used to live in walking distance of that place and they always had raw nori, which was incredible. Now that you’ve reminded me, I should look at Food Front!
  • We had a co-op here in Portland that sold raw nori sheets, but it has sadly closed. Now, I’d look online.

  • Just moved it. In fact, if anyone else would like a thread moved, just post it here and I’ll move it for you!
  • 2relefords: Yes, definitely feel your pain! I think Portland is easier than a lot of places to eat raw, but still…. Do you have a dehydrator? It helps me quite a bit to have some raw bars around, especially in the car. I suppose they are basically m…
  • Thanks for posting this, redsunflower. We thought quite a bit about these issues when creating Gone Raw. In fact, we created the site just as we were learning about raw foods in order to learn more and meet fellow raw foodists. While I believe that …
  • When I first started eating vegan, I would dread family gatherings. This situation just wasn’t tenable for me – my family is just too important in my life. NOw, we often invite our family over for holidays (especially Christmas). I’ll make a bunch o…

  • I have such wonderful childhood memories of a good friend’s mother filling the house with kim chi jars. Your post is inspiring me to try my own. Looking around, the one kim chi recipe here on Gone Raw (http://goneraw.com/recipes/3018-Kim-Chi) calls …
  • This is a fabulous idea for a topic! I am heading away from the computer for a day, so I thought I’d post links to a couple similar conversations to get the ball rolling: daily/weekly menus average day diet all day menu 1st day raw menu suggestions…
  • I believe jenergy was responding to this post where we announced a new New to Raw forum section. I had accidentally turned off the ability to comment to that post. All fixed now.

  • Thanks, jenergy – we have been thinking a great deal about how to be sure Gone Raw is helpful for those new to raw all the way to those that are old hats at it. We hope this is a step in the right direction!

  • I enjoy red wine here and there. While I would once accompany such a drink with a cheese plate, I now create a plate of hummus, raw crackers or sliced cucumbers and raw olives. Yum! And, perhaps a nice big glass of water between each drink.

  • queenluff, I believe that the author of any topic can edit the topic and change the forum. I’ve moved some of the obvious ones, but haven’t gone through them all. If you see one in particular to move, just let me know!
