  • Sometimes. I found that I got sick because I worried too much that I didn’t have enough raw food to eat. So, I had to move back a few steps and eat cooked and raw. But, for food combining specifically, I am not strict… except my body does not do wel…

  • Thanks for the link, aspire!
  • I agree with flybaby. To answer the question about cooked vs. raw… well, if you start off with raw, you begin digestion. If it’s all cooked, I think digestion is delayed 30 minutes. (Sorry, I don’t remember where I learned that.) But, it’s good to w…
  • Read the label. It should say not heated above… NaturalZing.com sells raw coconut… but I haven’t looked anywhere else.
  • Wow, Dain500! Thanks.
  • Yes, I read this on The Journal the other day. So where CAN we get good seeds? ...well, at least now… I assume organic farmers still get there seeds from a good reputable place (non-GE). And, it a few years ago that a seed-storage/archive place caug…
  • Maybe just a bad batch. Sounds like what you did was fine… according to sproutpeople.com
  • Did you change the water in the almonds while they were soaking? Skins removed? How did you do that w/ germinated almonds? And WHY? Don’t those get removed when straining?
  • Yes. You can freeze them. Besides, they have enzyme inhibitors to “survive the cold”; they will be fine. How long? Well, at least a winters length long. hehe ...actually, I do not know. They could last longer in the freezer.

  • No, not a bug… it was the wrong DELETE button. Yeah, I guess my mom meant paper ones… but I only thought cloth. Thanks. Hahaha. Germ.
  • Great idea bluedolphin. My mom mentioned the doily thing… but I didn’t know what she was talking about! I thought that was some kind of yarn-type woven-by-hand fabric… and didn’t think more of it. Yeah, I was going to delete a one-word post I had in…
  • Well, you have to understand their thinking. They may be skeptical because it hasn’t been “proven” to work. And, people want something that works. (chemo/radiation may not be the “best” option… but it has worked for some.) Every body is different… a…

  • I’m pretty sure it’s all melons! ...since all melons hold a lot of water.
  • Awesome. Looking forward to the post.

  • Curious… what sort of grains. Did she eat anything else? Like fruits, veggies, nuts… etc.

  • UPDATE: I tried it! I was wating for the “Big Matt w/ Cheese” to be on the menu… and I ordered it! The food is delicious! It does look a bit ‘sad’ in the plastic bags… but still tasted good. The food was in a bigger bag with an ice pack to keep it c…
  • hehe, Luna blu… I have a condo for sale in Northern Virginia. ;-) ...wait, don’t you have the Okanagan. Hmmm, maybe you don’t live in that area.
  • Thanks 2 husky girl. Sounds like the servings sizes are okay… since the only ‘downside’ is the delivery charge. I think it’s only $25 delivery to VA. Not too bad… but not something I would do often. It would definitely be a treat!
  • There’s also Yabba Pot in MD. And Loving Life Cafe in Hanover, PA… I know it’s a drive. Then there is the Raw Meet Up also! We’ve been to one for Thanksgiving. Source of Life Juice Bar is part of Everlasting Cafe, but you have to call for the menu. …
  • Thanks for the list… I’ve used lemon rinds for cleaning my tub!

  • Yes, I heard it’s hormonally based too. Is it recommended to eat more estrogen-high foods? (I don’t know like what… but, I have a list somewhere in my library.)
  • snoopy99: Boutenko says green leafy vegetables can be combined with fruits OR starchy-veggies. It’s the starchy veggies that should not be combined w/ fruits… and greens aren’t starchy. A bad thing about green smoothies… could be too much fiber… whi…
  • Yes, there is raw agave… well, the one I buy says not heated above 118F.

  • Oh I totally agree… my husband has a better sense of smell than I do… and only more recently am I “catching up”. I have noticed a keener sense of smell… but, it comes and goes (I guess depending on what percentage of raw I’ve eaten).
  • There’s also Cabelas brand ... it has a non-flimsy glass front door… (well, non-flimsy when I compare with Excalibur). Although, I like my Excalibur.
  • Oh, there’s a cheesecake you can make in 10 minutes? I wonder if this assumes you have all the ingredients ready to go. :o) Well, I’m sure you have to refrigerate it… that’s ok.
  • All prepared (non dehydrated, non sprouts) raw food lasts about 4 days. You can tell by its taste. uniform? How about adding a thickener of some sort… like irish moss. Not sure if this works… just guessing.
  • I have frozen the mango cheesecake which uses coconut, cashews, and mangos… and lecithin for thickening… and I have had good luck. It is not a block of ice, but easy to cut with a butter knife (and strong arms)! It lasts in the freezer 2-3 weeks bef…
  • I didn’t say I am against immigration reform… There must be a way for small farmers to get the help they need to grow & sell their food… like guest visas since Americans don’t want to do the work that non-Americans would. They get paid $17/hour …
  • Great question… I wondered that too. And Izhpt, thanks for your input… use my magic bullet & coffee grinder for flaxseeds too. I don’t see why I would need a dry blade… yet.
