  • (from what I understand) It depends on the enzyme… they denature at different temperatures. General rule of thumb… 118F.
  • Is it raw germinated nut butter (not dehydrated)? Prepared raw food goes bad in 4-5 days… unless it’s been dehydrated or something.
  • Hmmm. I wonder why sprouted cashews would make some people sick.

  • Someone said they are not raw… but, I’ve heard you can’t sprout oat groats either… I used to eat them… just germinating for a day or 2… and put them in a food processor to with other stuff to make oatmeal. Cashew sprouts… ?! Wow, great!

  • rawclaire, I’m going to have to try that… taste my food after 4 hours of dehydrating. I have only made one recipe like that (that needed 6 hours of dehydrating), but I didn’t notice anything. I am sure something like raw honey (anti-bacterial), fres…
  • Freezing would be like drying and wilting the food to. Mold? How so? I want to know more. Mold only grows if their is moisture… (am I wrong?) ...and dehydrating gets rid of the moisture.
  • Hmmm, interesting. Freezing them to “freeze dry” them. Sounds like it could work… but I’ve never tried it.
  • I feel like I need something bigger for breakfast… and fruit is just so easy to digest, I don’t know if it will last me 9 hours until my next meal. Yeah, green smoothies are great too… but, I need to eat something else too since they won’t last me 9…

  • Breakfast… there are few raw options in my home. And, I don’t think eating the same thing all week is good (for me)... we need variety, especially since we only eat 2 meals a day. I’m not 100% raw, but breakfast I find most difficult to prepare. If …

  • I don’t think so. But, there are 3 types. Red kale, dino kale, and just regular green kale. (i think)

  • Wow… I know there was a post about a Gone Raw Festival I don’t think anyone organized/planned anything. You can check it out and see where people are and/or would go… :o)
  • bitt – When I went to the mission (or maybe it was a natural health class), I was told that… Over 30, magnesium is just as important if not more important than calcium.

  • harmonylia – haha. Actually, no… there is absolutely nothing invasive about the cleanse I did. Just some really great bowel movement. What I am leaving out is the recipes for the “concoctions”, the recommended supplements, and hot-cold sauna – the s…

  • Someone asked about bentonite! Yes, I use it! I like these non-invasive colon cleansers. I do a salt water flush. Sometimes I do a salt water flush and afterward, a psyllium seed husk with liquid bentonite diluted in water and grape juice. Of course…

  • Teflex sheets have teflon. And, it makes for smooth texture (well, at least the bottom part on the teflex sheet… but you can use a rolling pin to smooth the top too… and both sides are smooth) I’m sure you can do the same using (brown) parchment pap…
  • I didn’t have any luck with Enzymedica enzymes. At least, when I stopped using them, I had problems… but who knows, maybe it was just ‘my luck’... and something else caused me problems. Dietitians the worst? There are dietitians that specialize in v…
  • Maybe marinated foods or “predigested foods” that were prepared by probiotics… (I don’t know really, but I’ve seen recipes on the Get Fresh raw magazine). Or eat pineapple and papaya with your food. Pineapple has a protein enzyme… but it doesn’t tas…
  • Umm, you can hit the DELETE post. I agree, smoothies or juices sounds like a good idea. But then, you can’t ‘live’ on smoothies… what CAN you eat?
  • MSM? But, I don’t want to take a supplement… I want to eat it in my food! Good to know the Thai stone is salt… I didn’t know that! I threw away the packaging when I got it. Thanks queenfluff. ambikalee, well, I don’t really know about foods for join…
  • Hmm, I don’t intentionally pop knuckles, crack backs, or any of that… as a matter of fact, I don’t even like to see it done when other people do it. This just sorta started appearing out of “no where”! Yeah, to repeat what Nicci said: “If there are …
  • Yes, sounds like a doctor visit would be a good idea.
  • VitaMix is a blender. It’s a high-speed blender up to 2 horsepower. BlendTec is the same… up to 3 horsepower. These are great for making smooth creamy soups, dressings, puddings, pies, ice creams, etc. As for food processor, there are several good o…

  • I have recently started thinking about how sanitary and unsanitary raw food is. I’m not sure how sanitary restaurant kitchens need to be kept… but, I’d wonder that if we all ate this way and I was at a raw restaurant. Sorry to hear about the worms…
  • Interesting idea. Fits with the idea of “fruits are for cleansing”, “vegetables are for healing”. You’re still getting both. I would think that anyone who is cleansing needs to make sure they get their vitamins, minerals, electrolytes. (like mineral…
