  • hehehe My husband would like to see a keyboard made of bamboo with Scrabble keys. ;-) He’s actually seen a laptop case made of wood.
  • For how many days? I am not sure I would last very long. But, I may want to try a juice fast after I attend Victoria Boutenko’s lecture (about green smoothies, I think) on Dec 9. I also heard good things about a grape juice “fast” (but you had to su…

  • Great! Thanks all.
  • Thanks so much! I thought a pinch was smaller than a smidgen… I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the “measurement approximations”... helpful. :o)
  • Ginger! We’re going to try that.
  • A sad loss. It made me think of how important “other things” are that affect our health. It’s not just what we eat that keeps us healthy. It’s more than that – nutrition, water, exercise, sunshine, air, rest, temperance, trust in God. Realizing that…
  • Thanks ABQNick. I just heard Sergei speak for Raw Summit 2… and we look forward to hearing Victoria in McLean.
  • Some of those places are out-of-the-way for us, but Thanks for all the info! If we need something to do… we’ll have to check it out. We will at least drive by that other restaurant/spa to see if they have anything raw. I’ll keep you posted if I find…

  • Anjali is a yoga place too… maybe it’s the same one. I found it listed on this site: http://rawinaz.com/rawarizona.html ...and other sites. They say “100% raw”. Some sites say, opening in 2003… others say opening in 2004. Maybe it’s still not open. …

  • Yeay! We’ll see you there!
  • SocaL… do you mean you froze germinated nuts? Or did they still have their enzyme inhibitors? I can see how the latter would freeze well. Not sure about nutrients or enzymes in frozen germinated nuts though. I find freezing to be “okay” for us. We d…
  • Sulphur. More like cabbage, brocooli, cauliflower… sulphur-containing foods. I didn’t think food combinging (without these foods) would cause that. I’m curious.
  • Sorry, that was not a raw website… I should have put http://www.whfoods.com/foodstoc.php and http://www.whfoods.com/nutrientstoc.php Attached to my last post is also the article where Roxanne talks about the “changing” protein/fat ratio… but, the l…

  • Sorry, I haven’t read the posts… except for the first one. But, isn’t it difficult to show nutrition fact when the nurtients (vitamins/miners) in food depend on the soil the food is grown in. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. This confuses me and I h…

  • I like the article. Especially the part about “it’s probably detoxification”. I don’t agree when people explain “symptoms” to be a detoxification of the raw diet. It doesn’t always make sense. I’m not saying it can’t happen… I’m sure it happens ofte…
  • How about Raw Food Real World…. or Raw by Trotter and Klein. Only because they have wonderful pictures. These are more for the gourmet type people. I love Raw Food Real World recipes… they are my never-failed-me-yet recipes. But, I like the contents…
  • I haven’t done that cleanse… but, I’m about to start a mini-day cleanse this weekend. As for acne, I’m sure a steambath (hot-cold bath) would help open up those pores and clear your skin.

  • Canned food is boiled/heated. It is not raw. Same for jarred foods. The word raw can be confusing. If something is labelled “raw” they could just mean the unprocessed, raw ingredient (but could be heated). So, you have to look for “raw” and “living”…

  • ecvraw Freezing un-germinated nuts/seeds does not denature enzymes… because they have enzyme inhibitors. It doesn’t sound like freezing is just as bad as cooking. Cooking denatures all enzymes whereas freezing denatures some enzymes… I just don’t kn…

  • Awwww. Your baby is the newest Gone Raw memeber… and I’m sure the youngest! :-) Congratulations KurdishMom.
  • I am sure that it takes time to heal when trying the raw lifestyle… days, months, years… guess it depends what one has. I personally had absolutely no benefit for the first two months I was raw. So, I decided to do a cleanse instead. That really hel…
  • Zoe/Chris… will you have a store/restaurant in Charlottesvile? If so, we’ll have another reason to visit that area when you move to VA. forrestlyone, I think I saw that painting at the Corocran Building museum yesterday! Actually, I don’t really kno…
  • Well, Dr. Lorraine Day (medical doctor) had breast cancer and claims she was healed by juicing. She has a 10-step program or something like that.

  • Thanks for the great advice… I never considered eating less “processed” raw food (if that makes sense). I was doing all that…. making myself gourmet and dehydrated foods and for 2 months I didn’t get any positive results… (but that a different topic…
