  • I love the bacon! I make one similar to the one recently posted, however, I leave the oil out. It is nice and crispy, which I am sometimes in the mood for, I haven't had a taste for onion bread in a while, but when I did an eggplant, tomato and lett…
  • You must not have received it yet, because a pound is a pretty good amount. I would say it is about like a 3 inch slice of pineapple. When you grate it to use it in a recipe, it'll barely make a dent in it. I used it to make almond butter cups and a…

  • Try this, omit the yeast, and add a bit more water to make a sauce instead of dehydrating for crackers. when I make the crackers, I can't keep out of the "batter" I often use fresh tomato in place of the dried, that would make it more sauce like too…
  • I bought it, tried it, love it and then looked into it. I found it in the raw food section, under the manufacturers logo it says "raw and wholesome foods". I went to the website and they have a list of their foods and what categories they fit in, su…
  • I buy them at Whole Foods. They are sweetened with apple juice. It never occured to me that it could be concentrated apple juice. I soak them anyway, so maybe it rinses it off! Oil is not listed as an ingredient.

  • Raw corn might make a nice addtion to your diet. I make pico de gallo with raw corn, diced tomatoes, lots of cilantro, minced onion, a little diced chili (serrano), lots of lime juice, a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper and some diced avocado. …

  • I like to eat soaked wild rice now and then. I usually soak it in the refridgerator until it starts to split. it seems to me that it takes a couple of days. I change the water daily. My favorite way to eat it is with a diced firm pear, a little ging…

  • What about soaking wild rice and using it in amarinated salad. Or, sprouted quinoa in taboulleh? That might satisfy her.

  • I like Brazil nut protein powder added to smoothies. While it is a nut, it has been defatted. I buy it from Natural Zing.
  • I made a creamy tomato sauce today that I really enjoyed. I used 3 roma tomatoes (really nice ripe ones.), a couple of dates, a T of sunflower seeds, a little fresh basil, salt and a dash of cayenne pepper. I added just enough water to get it moving…
  • I had the same thing happen with a horse, it just looked like he had gone to sleep. I will never know, but after thinking about it I decided that he must've gone peacefully. He looked comfortable, not like he'd been thrashing or hurt. I suspect if s…
  • When I was in my 20s I always had some sort of stomach problem. Usually a stomachache, naseau and heartburn. I had to travel with a little bowl of baking soda to drink mixed with water to settle my stomach. It was to the point that everything in my …
  • i agree about Natural Zing. Plus, they ship quickly. I agree that their prices are good and they have a wide selection, wider than anyone else I've found online. Also, should you have an issue, they will resolve it quickly and with a good attitude. …
  • I have done lots of raw camping! Last year I did a raw camping Thanksgiving for about 10 people, it was so much fun. Onion bread is excellent for camping because you can make sandwiches, or use it as pizza crust. I took nut milk and buckwheaties for…
  • You should be able to. It'll be with the fiber supplements in the vitamin section.
  • It makes a delicious milk!
  • Tomato soup. PUt a handful of cashews a date or two water, tomatoes, salt and pepper in the oster and blend until smooth. You could add a little basil. There is also a really good carrot soup recipe on this site. It's called curried carrot soup, you…

  • It was through one if those sites that sells air on many different airlines. This one was cheapoair.com. We'll see if the airline honors it. I have a feeling they won't but at least we're on someone's list!
  • I found a way that works great for me. I grate the zuccini first and then lightly salt it and let it sit in a colander for a bit. Then I squeeze out as much water as I can before adding it to the hummus. It makes it nice and creamy.
  • I bought some Bragg's liquid aminos one time and there was a huge chunk of mold in it. I promptly returned it! I don't think it has anything to do with Braggs's, just a coincidence.
  • I have an Oster 1000 watt blender that was $50 at Costco. It'll do anything I put in there. I take out the seeds, but don't peel. However, I did see a Vitamix demo at Costco today, it seems like they had them for $350, I am not sure if that is a goo…
  • Ok, so I went back to double check. I must've read my original info somewhere other than Sea Tangle. I just checked their site and this is what it says: Products are shelf stable for six months and refrigeration is required only after opening That's…

  • The first time I ordered them, I ordered a case and kept them in my pantry thinking if they could ship them regular mail, then they were shelf stable. Well, since then I read either on Sea Tangle's website or on the package that they should be kept …

  • If you make a raw burger, you could either make jicama fries or the salt and vinegar chips from this site.
  • What about picking some dishes that SAD eaters already eat that are raw so that it's not a huge departure, maybe just a gentle introduction. Dips such as guacamole and pico de gallo or other raw salsas could be good with romaine lettuce leaves and m…
  • Just an idea, grated trumpet mushrooms! I tried a recipe on here once using them and it was amazing how much the texture resembled mozarella. Of course it'll take some work, but there's the texture.
  • This may be way out there, but could she have been bitten by a snake? I know that snakes are attracted to chickens. A dog will swell up when bitten and then often with no treatment, it will just go away. And, dogs tend to get bitten in the face.
  • My mango salsa is pretty easy, mix together: chopped mango (1 large) chopped pineapple (about the same amount as the mango) diced serrano (I remove the seeds, I usually use a whole small one) minced cilantro (a handful before chopping) sliced green …
  • I used to do this when I cooked. Now I just buy all of the things that I like and then open the fridge and get inspired. Occassionally I will find a recipe that I like and buy stuff especially for it, but the longer I am raw, the more simple I eat. …
