  • Me, too, Zaphirah. I am going to google how raw milk cheese is aged, because that is the closest thing.

  • I’ve actually never even tried Boursbin cheese before. Is it like spreadable cheddar cheese? Or are we talking more like cottage cheese? I agree it is a dream come true.

  • Wow MOTH – looks like they have ice cream too. It looks amazing! So does the cheese! Thanks for posting that.

  • queenfluff, wow, that’s really cool! I am going to try to make my first homemade aged nut cheese. I will start out with macadamias and cashews because those make the best cheeses. You’re right queenfluff, you can use all kinds of nuts! I have made a…

  • I paid the $12 once to see what it was like. I bought it at www.veganstore.com. Just search cheese and scroll till you see Dr. Cow Cashew Aged Cheese. I ordered two wheels, and I though they would be large but they were as big as a sample cup. But, …

  • One word about raw nuts is that it is very hard to get them in the states, even online when they are labeled “truly raw”. I buy them from Canada at realrawfood.com and the prices are far better and their nuts seem to be truly raw.
  • Used to buy from them all the time. Now mainly I don’t because I haven’t been using much frozen fruit. That’s good info.
  • By the way, that coconut water is not at all raw. It is completely pasteurized.

  • http://www.alissacohen.com sells really raw oats.
  • Peanut butter is not raw, and the “raw peanuts” at healthfood stores aren’t raw. You can, though, buy raw wild jungle peanut butter from Sunfood, but I’ve read that it’s not as good as regular peanut butter. It’s also much better to soak and dehydra…
  • springleaf: thanks! I will update a picture of her when the picture problem is resolved. lulush, thanks! I’ve been raw pretty much my whole life except for some bits of cooked sprouted bread and things like that, but in the past three years I really…
  • I agree lulush about the issue of binging on fake raw foods. (haha) I know watcha mean. :) the only thing pretty much I eat is raw aged nut cheese that isn’t really that bad (it’s more digestible than regular nuts because it’s cultured). I eat mostl…
  • well, the reason it’s harmful is because it does burden the digestive system. If your colon is inactive throughout your life because you ate cooked food (primarily meat) bacteria will collect and later cause colon cancer. This is rare if your vegeta…
  • The only frozen things I eat are bananas that I freeze myself and occasionally frozen berries, otherwise all fresh. I store all my dates/nuts in the refrigerator. I always make ice cream from fresh young coconut meat and cashews. I only freeze it fo…
  • I’ll C&P my response to your thread, stevio. It is in fact illegal to sell sproutable hemp seeds in the US. Nutiva ships them in from Canada, because they are raw there. I will look for source for bulk raw hemp seeds. http://www.nutiva.com/produ…
  • David’s, I used to go there all the time! We shop at My Organic Market now.
  • Zoe, I can get raw hemp seeds in Maryland. They come in a bag in the supplement section called “Nutiva”. It is labeled 100% shelled raw hempseed and I can easily sprout them, tails and all.
  • I buy Nutiva hemp seeds, they’re raw and they sprout Branwyn. Just google Nutiva Hemp Seeds. If they were roasted they wouldn’t be raw, and they’re labeled 100% raw shelled hempseed.
  • Yes, I have sprouted hemp seeds, ground them with water an vanilla and raw honey and it tastes like a living version of soy milk. You can strain it or not. And, yes, there are other seeds you can use.
  • hmmm, well, soy milk is also bad for you because it is highly mucous producing and is a cooked fat with no enzymes.
  • No, unfortunately you do need to refrigerate them. I do get them shipped in, but it is expensive overnight shipping to prevent spoilage; they are not shipped cold. I end up freezing most of them coz they take up too much refrigerator space.
  • That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. Must be teeming with fungicides.
  • It’s just a salty liquid that’s fermented I believe, you could always sub salt. I never use it.
  • lol that was great. :)
  • Oh no, those sound terribly unripe. They should be dark golden yellow or red on the inside. Are they hard to the touch on the outside? I’ve had Maradol papayas (the kind you’re talking about) and they are sweet and juicy and soft.
  • My mom has never ever had anyone do enemas for her, she always does it herself. I don’t see what the difference is if you hold the bag up or if someone else does.
  • I don’t do enemas but my mom occasionally does and it is really good for getting excess out of your colon, even if there isn’t much. It prevents buildup and is probably a good backup. My suggestion, try one out and see what it does for you. It’s bes…
  • The brown bag method I have never tried but I find my fruit ripens faster if I put it in the sunniest area.In the summer I would leave my all-green pineapples in the car overnight and in the morning they would be golden all over the bottom. Try putt…
  • Hmm, this is a great question! I never wash the greens, I always get organic. If they’re not organic, then washing them might be better to get rid of the pesticides but otherwise, yep, I think you’re just washing them in chlorine. I’d like to hear o…
