  • "sharing raw, vegan recipes and advice" This is the definition of the website. Not "health advice" or "raw advice". raw. vegan. advice.
  • No threads or tangents trying to convince us to eat meat.
  • yeah, I don't think there's anyone here who would argue that there's something wrong with that. this thread puttered out a while ago. whatever group of people say that vegans worship animals are definitely the minority, and probably say so just beca…

  • Yeah, I figured you just googled "biblical diet" or something. But, I think a lot of the "science" that they mention is wack too, besides the religious bigotry. But anyway back to the original topic! I think this is a great video regarding the subje…

  • Its ok. And, this is pretty off topic, but I do live by what the Bible says. But Jesus doesn't enforce or even suggest any one type of diet or the other. In terms of doctrine, things like diets are just a distraction from the essence of the gospel (…

  • Heh, yeah I wasn't knocking you. Friendly teasing, no? What you do is cool. I just find it ironic that you post here a lot. Like, it would be like if I started posting vegan stuff on a paleo-diet site. Sorry if that's not ironic :( Also, I'm not veg…

  • What defines a raw food diet on this site is uncooked vegan food - fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. I find it funny that you are neither raw nor vegan, yet still hang out here, lol. But, its good to get the variety I guess.

  • Yeah, it was definately the durian that killed him. Was he wearing clothes? Probably that caused his death too. No more durian or pants for me...
  • Read 80/10/10 I guess. I believe he sites some studies there. Logically, if blood enters the stream slowly, it will exit slowly as well. If it enters quickly, it will leave quickly. We want it to leave quickly.
  • Enough so that you feel good and don't develop problems? I don't know, haha...
  • I also think exercise is a huge factor. If someone is eating high fruit but spends all day completely inactive, then it makes sense that problems will occur. They're eating pure fuel and not doing anything with it...
  • I've heard the same thing about sesame seeds. Could it just be the fat? In 80/10/10 Doug explains that a high fat intake slows the absorption of sugar into (and, more important, out of) the bloodstream, thus raising blood sugar levels. This is in co…

  • Hmm, that sounds a bit odd to me. Granted, this isn't a terribly convincing amount of counter-evidence (as I only spent about 30 seconds searching it), but Wikipedia says that our closest relatives are Gorillaz or Chimpanzees (here) Kurite, what are…

  • Thanks ILYD. I try to be open minded. After all, I did become raw vegan basically out of principle. However, yes I do stand by what I think until I am presented with enough convincing counter-data. RCF was right in that I didn't have my facts straig…

  • Haha, I always hear people say that things like "a strict type of diet can lead to certain problems", but I don't see the logic in it. Then why exclude processed foods? Why exclude white sugar? Why exclude rocks, cardboard, mud? Any type of diet is …

  • When I settle down, I deeply desire it to be in a tropical area.
  • If you have a big fight with a loved one, its a good practice to write down everything you feel. However, give it to them right away and odds are feelings will get hurt. Rather, after writing the letter let it sit for a day or two. Then go back to i…
  • 80/10/10 is a concept which applies to any type of diet, not just raw vegan. Therefore, you can include any foods you want, so long as you eat them in those ratios. If you are looking for what is "optimal" to include/exclude in an 811 diet, then jus…

  • Hmm, but if you choose to eat meat, which collectively has a negative effect on the planet, you would be "bothering" other people, wouldn't you? (just playing devil's advocate)
  • please don't talk about lycopene in this thread, lol... that tangent will just go way too far
  • You are welcome, although some more advice: don't make any decisions according to a label you would like to have, do whatever is best for yourself according to research, reason, and honest thinking : )
  • IMO, eating cooked food isn't a treat, rather a compromise. You'll probably adopt this mindset over time. However, also in my opinion I would call you a "raw vegan" as long as you were 75% raw, and 100% vegan (minus honey), and 100% whole/natural (i…
