  • I agree with all things said above…Love the idea of going to a fish market…LOL! One thing not mentioned was the iodine found in fish. It helps the thyroid, and one of the not so common symptoms of thyroid issues is blurry vision. So, somthing to thi…

  • I would NEVER get the vaccine myself or allow my daughter to get it. The strain of HPV that you are protected from is so rare. Also, safe sex practices will prevent you from getting it. It is just another way the drug companies are trying to make mo…
  • I hope you all have the best time EVER! I live 30 minutes from Sedona, but can’t go this year ( I have a mama due to birth any time around then), but, if any of you are passing through Flagstaff on your way in or out of Sedona.
  • We get flack for letting our kids eat when they want all the time. My daughter is 3 and, like most toddlers, still grazes her way throug the day. She eats fruits and veggies all day long, and when it is time for “dinner” she is not hungry. This REAL…
  • Hi ambikalee, I actually just made a type of raw lava cake last weekend. I used the chocolate cupcake recipe that I posted a few months back for the cake. For the sauce, I used the dehydrator to warm up coconut oil then blended with cocoa powder and…
  • I have heard testimonials from people who have “cured” bipolar, anxiety, panic attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Depression…just to name a few! It also helps with ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorders.

  • I would stay away from any edamame, but especially the raw. There are many neurotoxins in soy, and it can damage all your glads. It is especially dangerous for children, particularly boys. For more info. on this, you can visit a website that I have:…

  • I have always just put them in water and drank them…they are good for regulating blood sugars.
  • Yum! These look great! Thanks Vaughn!
  • My naturopath/midwife told me that if I was ever not able to breastfeed in an emergency situation that rice milk or carrot juice were the next best options. I never had to worry about it, so I didn’t bother to do the research on them. Just other opt…
  • I breast fed my daughter until she was 26 months old. She ate a small amount of solid foods, but always preferred breast milk. Then one day she told me she was done nursing and she stopped “cold turkey”. She then went right to solid foods. I wasn’t …
  • Hi rawmaiden, Congratulations on going raw…your body, mind, and spirit will thank you for it! As for the cellulite, I have lost a TON of it since going raw. I used to have alot on my legs and butt. Now, it is almost all gone! I just eat raw and exer…
  • A great combo for a smoothie is kale and peaches or nectarines. We found out while experimenting with my mom that it didn’t make her blood sugar go up more than a few points, and always within normal.
  • Ithink I am a little more focused now…so, I went on line and ordered some raw foods to be delivered next week. This should ease some of the stress as far as food prep. Also, I am going to spend all day tomorrow dehydrating so there are some quick th…
  • I changed my exercise routine because right now our house is completely under construction and if I don’t get my exercise done first thing, it won’t get done at all. The construction workers get here at 7am and it is all downhill from there. Also, o…
  • Thanks for your support everyone. I think I have created a cycle that I just need to figure out how to break. I had one cooked food item, then it spiraled out of control. Each time I have something that isn’t raw I feel tired, and depressed, then th…
  • I second the floradix, I recommend it to mama’s that I work with if they have low iron. I also took it myself when I was pregnant with my daughter.
  • I am less than an hour from Sedona, but I can’t go!! I am so sad! I have a mama due around the time of the festival, so I have to be available in case she goes into labor. I am hoping I can go next year.
  • Lettuce wraps…so easy! I just put a bunch of veggies in the food processor to chop, then put them inside lettuce wraps with some raw dipping sauces, such as sesame, plum, or even barbeque. My family likes them , and it takes just minutes to make.
  • You can just soak them (germinate them), but make sure you rinse them a few times with fresh water to provide them with oxygen, so they don’t start to go bad.

  • Yes, you can soak and sprout chickpeas. You don’t have to cook them. After sprouting, you can blend them into hummus, or other dips….or just sprinkle them on your salad. Yummy!

  • I have heard that Manna bread is NOT truly raw…however, many people use it in the transition to raw because it is “baked” at a significantly lower temperature than regular sprouted breads.

  • The Secret, of course….oh, and a fun one that I really like is The Illusionist. It is a “fiction” book, but the principles are about creating your own reality. I read it at least once a year and always walk away with something useful and new.
  • chefraw16, can you post your recipe for bread using buckwheat. I am still searching for a sub for reg. bread to put in my son’s lunch. Thanks!
