  • Saying that you eat raw is a blanket statement that doesn’t describe your diet. Have you tried proper food combining or meals with fewer ingredients? Have you been tested for food allergens or vitamin/mineral deficiencies?
  • It must be that you are getting sufficient nutrients from less food! I find this to be true for myself, as well.
  • These things are soy that is fermented in salt. I doubt that you’ll ever find a salt-free product.

  • Or…you have other options if you want eco-friendly products. Marmoleum is a “linoleum” type of tile that’s made from flax, wood and cork. Check out green living or eco-friendly products if this is a consideration for you. You aren’t talking about Ho…
  • My vote is for wood or a sustainable product like cork or bamboo. Carpet has many problems including mold, mites and dust. Not only that, but the color won’t be in style forever and carpet wears out and looks stained. Ceramic tile, marble or concret…
  • I bought 4 nut mulk bags on eBay for $9.99! I don’t know why they’re so expensive everywhere else.
  • It’s so easy with a nut mylk bag. I use 3-4 cups water per 1 cup soaked/rinsed almonds and blend. I put the bag in a large measuring cup and pour in the contents. It’s easy to lift the bag and squeeze slowly from the top down and then wring it when …
  • Some are, some aren’t. Synthetic, isolated and fractionted vitamins are not recognized by the body as nutrients with all of their cofactors. Some contain excipients (fillers) that are toxic. Others contain allergens. Get tested to see if you have an…
  • If stringy roots are growing inside, I say save the seed, start a plant and toss the rest in the compost!
  • I have been drinking home-brewed kombucha for a long time and have not had this experience.

  • No, nuts in a can are generally roasted. I buy raw nuts online at www.bulkfoods.com or www.bulknuts4you.com , but there are many online sources.

  • I’m with Chakra. I’ve learned my lesson buying Wal-Mart brand anything. You buy cheap, you get cheap. My Excalibur was way under $300. I’ve had it for 4 years.
  • Pistachio pesto with soaked pistashio nuts, pumpkin seeds, garlic, spinach, olive oil and sea salt on zucchini pasta. It was fantastic! greenie, are you referring to Saturn peaches? I had those last year and they WERE out of this world.
  • I tried eating what grows on the ranch where I live, but a person can only eat so many cactus and mesquite beans! Actually, my neighbors had a great organic garden last spring and we had lots of good produce. If we could ever stay put, I’ll have a g…
  • Oh yeah, I forgot. I made a green smoothie and left some in the fridge overnight and it fermented. It was shockingly bad! I don’t do that anymore.
  • Raw cacao beans without adding a sweetener.
  • I just ordered 10 pounds of organic red wheat seed for $18.00 with shipping. I’m about to move back to NM for an indefinite time, so I’m going to start some there. Both places have been extremely windy and cold this winter, but I’m going to drink wh…
  • I think that after reading more about wheatgrass, I will grow my own. I’m in Texas too, but nowhere near a city the size of Houston. I used to go there when I visited my cousins and the city would spray the streets with mosquito spray. I remember fo…
  • Chewing it doesn’t mean swallowing it. You could chew on it and then spit out the fiber. I don’t think that you would get a sufficient quantity of juice though. I looked on the Internet and the best price that I’ve found and the easiest ordering is …
  • We had this topic come up recently here. My suggestion was to blend it with water and strain it through a nutmilk bag. If the grass blends, it would seem to make it more digestible. Do you grow your own wheatgrass? I’m considering ordering some froz…
  • We could always put our email addresses on our profile pages if we want to receive personal mesages.
  • Squirrel, are you slicing quickly or slowly? The one that I used for the onions worked better when I sped up my rythme. I have an OXO mango splitter and it’s a neat gadget.
  • I looked at the Benriner slicers and liked the vertical one better because the weight is on the “what-ever” you’re slicing, gravity. I bought a Saladacco instead because it makes thinner noodles. I still want a mandoline though because they serve di…
  • Lucuma powder is actually a dried fruit that has been ground to a powder. I order it online from www.iherb.com (Navitas brand), but most of the raw gurus carry it too. It is used to make ice cream, you would love it! It doesn’t taste fruity as it ta…

  • I make nougat-like candy sometimes, out of agave nectar and lucuma powder, that is reminiscent of marshmallows. I just mix even amounts and add more lucuma or agave until the right consistancy is reached. I also add a dash of seasalt. It’s good to s…

  • Maybe buckwheat would work. It’s not a grain although it’s used as one.
  • Green smoothies would be the ideal way to use it.
  • Mairzee dotes (I love your user name), not everyone follows the food combining rules. It’s your decision to eat what makes you feel good. That said, I only use water or kombucha tea in smoothies, lately, just water. I add some superfoods to my smoot…
