  • When it was over 100 degrees all day and still over 90 in the house at night, then the neighbor puts his irrigation on. They may not cool the house down but just the thought of those rain birds watering the fields made one content, and so the rain b…
  • I think if every one is serious about what they put into their body they need to do a study on coffee, black tea/green tea, and decaffeinated coffee and tea. Thankfully, I could never drink coffee, but tea had been my warm drink. After doing a study…
  • I use a Champion for hard veggies and the single auger Omega for softer veggies. Most times I just make a green smoothie. Before you bought your juicer did you do a search about enzymes and centrifugal juicers? Just a thought.

  • angie, if they are pumpkin or squash seeds in shell, then most crack them with the teeth. That is the reason for all the goodies on them before roasting. The seeds we buy in the bulk area is from hull less seed pumpkins.
  • water baby did you buy the “hull less seed” pumpkin? If it isn’t hull less I don’t bother with the seeds with hulls on. So much easier to buy the pumpkin seeds. Call me lazy. In my opinion the pumpkin with the seeds with hulls are better tasting tha…
  • Rainiest place in OR here. Tillamook OR that is. Solar dehydrating. Bad idea. The only time it may work is in August on a south wall, checking the temp.often. You would also have to bring it in at night due to the dampness we get. The whole thing wo…
  • Would it help to finely grind the salt into a powder? I put a powderd salt herb seasoning on zucc. slices to dry and they came out way to salty. Have to “brush” it off to eat.

  • For the last few nights I have taken my dog out for his walk. On the porch is a black beetle carrying his dinner down the stairs. On the lawn is a salamander, I assume, looking for his dinner. My dog looks, sniffs, and then continues on to do his bu…
  • I am sure there are other foods we really don’t like to eat. I don’t like okra or cilantro, and don’t eat it. My DH doesn’t like custard or most vegan foods. Yesterday, I sat in the car with DH while he ate a Whopper burger meal.No big deal. If I we…
  • I consider myself a vegan but since I eat honey I am “beegan”. I feed my dog raw chicken necks 5 days a week and blended veggies with ofal or eggs 2 days a week. In the morning we share my green Super food smoothie. He gets fresh fruit as treats dur…
  • Thanks for the information. This will really help. Some people I can tell and they believe me, others need the proof. I have figured out to many years to late. Wright down where you get the information.
  • Why is protein such an issue. I think it very funny. Protein is in almost everything we put in our mouths and then if that isn’t enough, there is the supper foods. As I live on the N.W. coast I need to take a vit.D, late fall until almost summer. I …
  • Have you ever had the white Maca? If not, it tastes like malt. Like chocolate malt balls, with out the chocolate. I have never had the red but this would be a good comparison.
  • I was getting an itchy scalp and it went away when I did the salt no poo. Did you stay on the no poo long enough to help? Like 3 months? I have heard, a parasite cleanse can help if that is the problem. I also understand, fungus can cause itchy scal…
  • I am still eating out of my garden, so my organic food bill for the summer is around $275 for my self. During winter and spring it will be about $400. Getting a garden going is the best way to save those $$$. Also, dehydrating and freezing fruit and…
  • I shall give a cherry thought. For any one who has found out they dont have cancer, and feels they can go off raw eating. It can take 10 years for cancer to show up. Sooooo Stay with eating right and let your immune system get rid of the thing while…
  • I have not made the ketsup from this site, but I would soak the raisins and maybe the tomatoes a bit longer. If it still doesn’t blend well add a bit of water or apple juice.
  • I buy nuts when I absolutely have to. The price and question of, are they raw or not, gives me concern.
  • RA joint pain stays away even with out all the natural pills for RA. Sure feels good not taking a handful of them at each meal! I still have the fog. I think the problem could be hormone cream. Have been trying to get 100% off, but no go yet. I woul…
  • There are two raw sweet potato recipes on Gone Raw. I also make raw sweet potato chips. When we lived in Alaska, we would have to slice or grate the potatoes grown there. We would then soak them in water. This would take out a lot of the starch.
  • This is really odd. but will answer. When I was cook vegan. I would steam a lot. Tho it would depend on what I was cooking. If it came down to cook or starve, then steam would be my first option.Tho in the long run I would be starving my body.
  • If you did not make crackers out of the bread, it should be refrigerated. The grawnola can be left out for a good two weeks. Some do longer. I don’t. Grains can be left out but keep in a cool area. I refrigerate all nuts and seeds. I refrigerate co-…

  • Hi bean this is beany. hee-hee. Well I would do as most suggest. Soak, sprout, dry, grind. A simple way to do this is as soon as you get the seed. Soak, sprout, dry, then they will always be ready to grind. I have found if it is “organic” or “raw” i…
