  • Curezone.com has a lot of interesting ideas, with photos of results. Another thing you might consider is that this could also be kidneys? I always have back pain when I MC and usually chalk it up to my kidneys being flushed out. But, I agree to have…

  • There are some great ways to flush your gall bladder with lemons and olive oil. I never really tried it, but I did once make a huge salad with a strong lemon juice and olive oil dressing. I loved the dressing so much I ended up drinking the dressing…

  • My past Master Cleanse was a rough one. I was detoxing from cigarettes, 4 cups of coffee a day, energy drinks, fried foods and junk foods. I had a sore throat for some of it, but mostly I was full of body aches and spent my detox in bed. Maybe start…

  • I don't think of David wolfe, Karen Knowler, Victoria Boutenko, Shazzie, Paul Nison as "chubby" they all look pretty good too me. Their diet advice might not be the same as others, but they don't look like they have weight issues. My opine, ...
  • It sounds like you are much better off not forcing yourself and instead embracing it. Being raw should be about all the wonderful fresh things we enjoy eating, but it's not a fast or to be thought of as a way to deprive oneself. I have decided to en…
  • I think it's okay once in a while to engage in a vegan cooked dish. Are we raw because we enjoy diet or are we trying to deprive ourselves? If you feel deprived then try a little cooked food once in a while, it's better than becoming resentful of yo…
  • Well, that is very interesting. I think my batches are okay, but if the next batch seems funny I'll start over with a couple bottles of GT. Thank you very much for this heads up!
  • The Chumama- really? I threw the mothers away and am using the scobys as mothers for the next batch. The brew tastes pretty much like kombucha and the scobys look like kombucha scobys. I looked on that site, which is a great site, but didn't find an…
  • Well, it's been 2 weeks and the scobys are healthy and ready to make more, the batch is nice and vinegary with a slight fizz to it. So glad I don't have to spend almost $4 for a bottle anymore!!
  • I have babies!!! I cannot believe it, but I do! I made enough for two jars, used the old scobys along with the GTs kombucha added for good luck. I just check in the closet at the jars and they are both growing babies at the tops of the jars!! The te…
  • Hey, thank you Have Mercy! I actually used both this am. Whipped up a batch of sweet tea last night and threw the culture and also a bottle of GT when pouring it all in the big jars for good measure. I have it all tucked away in the linen closet, cr…
  • Dumpster diving is how I help feed my family too! There is a badge of honour when you can freegan well!
  • Greens would be a right not just a privilege...can you imagine getting a raw meal in a drive through window...?
  • My fav GT- KT is their #3, the one with elderberry and lavender, wonderful flavour and very very very fizzy. I opened one during class once and had to hide under the table while trying to save half the bottle from fizzing out the sides. LOL!

  • I just whipped up a batch after a long time. I used regular black tea and various types of herbal. I also just read somewhere that you can also use mate and black tea. It great making your own KT and good karma to spread your extra scobys around to …

  • Bryan- Food Not Bombs" believes in free vegan food for all. I have seen them at work during protests. You might also want to get in touch with "freegans" in your area to find the best dumpsters. My heart goes out to you, I just found out that one of…
  • Do you have a local "Food Not Bombs" collective? They often have the good connections to find the free produce.
  • I'm a struggling full time student and a single mom. I have learned to dumpster dive. A lot of good health food stores will leave boxes of clippings that might not look perfect for the yuppy trendy crowd, but can be great for us raw foodies for juic…
  • Enjoy your foods in their simple forms. Munching on fruit for breakfast is cheap and easy on the stomach. Chopped veggies in simple dressings rolled up in lettuce leafs. Learn to make your own kumbucha, you can pack it up quickly in a bottle.

  • Ha! I just cooked some tonight for my family. (I just cooked and served not eating) I don't think you can do anything raw with them BUT there are many families in crisis right now, you might want to considered donating them to a food bank if you cho…

  • Try some mint tea in the mean time, but your system will adjust it just takes time. Just think of everything leaving your body as the bad stuff going away. I am MCing right now but I have a nice long winter break.
  • Spitfiredd- that article was interesting and I can see where some of it is going. Yet, I find keeping an open door to some self destruction helps put an edge on my work. Most of the best artists, writers, actors...were/are pretty unhealthy and have …
