  • crysp2fresh, some prunes may be raw. i think dried fruits are a good transition food because drying does not kill as many nutrients as cooking. but if you are striving to be all raw, then call the company to verify. yes, i am raw vegan and take supp…
  • ras-saadon, as far as diversity, greens have a wide diversity of nutrients in them. they are probably the best bang for your buck for nutrition. think outside the box: use parsley, beet tops as well as bottoms, herbs have nutrition too. you can spro…
  • I eat chia daily. We make a bread with it. I am trying to post the recipe on this site but it is blocking me from posting. Hmph.
  • hmm, well after being all raw for several months my eczema went away. nothing external ever worked much. but MSM cream is worth a try. i wonder what the 25% of non-raw is. could have an impact.
  • good for you! keep it up!

  • I find sometimes that too many nuts can weigh me down. Not to say I don’t have them ever, but I have times where I can’t tolerate them as well. On the other hand, seeds I do well with. In fact, I was craving flax the other day and loaded up and I fe…
  • We had about 50% raw for our second reception. The first one was all vegan. For the raw dishes, we had things like nori, falafel balls, and other finger foods. We also had a strawberry sheet cake that was very good. Most people liked it better than …

  • I think steaming would be best because it is light and quick. the longer you cook something, the more it kills the enzymes and potentially produces AGEs (Advanced Glycoxidation End Products) in foods. (see 12 steps to raw for more info.) I believe y…

  • Me too! First it was the pictures, now it’s the recipes. When I press submit, it deletes all that I wrote. :-(
  • you could use a sundried tomato-based spread. i use the one from raw food real world. it’s basically 2 cups sundried tomatoes (soaked for awhile then drained), one fresh tomato, some salt, lemon. it calls for olive oil but you could skip that.

  • smoothies will help a lot! I am down to 135 from over 165. It took about 5 months and I’m still getting there. I have a green smoothie or two daily. Sometimes I eat a lot and sometimes I don’t. It takes awhile to figure out what works for you. If yo…

  • matt monarch talks about eating less being the ultimate goal—BUT over time. so by the time you are like 60 you should be eating very small meals. if you reduce your calories too much while you are young, then it will be too extreme for you to keep u…
  • good for you! the same thing happened to me after celiac. i was so used to not having to worry about what i ate due to it not all being absorbed i was eating a LOT for my body size. but on raw, i absorb so much in each bite i don’t need to gorge any…

  • wow? even with all that other stuff in it? have you tried a plain one? well you can certainly use another dried fruit although not many are as sticky so you may have to add more liquid.
  • Moth, sorry about the crazies. That is pretty ironic about the lean cuisine and supplements thing. I was at a co-worker event tonight and the woman who had made a brie-cheese and bread log-type thing was telling me how she was reading “skinny bitch”…
  • yeah i go through phases where veggies are less appealing. but i do usually force myself to have them because i will feel less healthy off them. but you can certainly experiment and see how you feel on different things.
