  • I finished it but I’m going to read it again…and probably again until it all sinks in. Tried to watch his class on oprah.com Monday night but there was too much traffic, I’ll try to read the transcript. I always find I feel amazing after a book like…

  • kattbuddah – I found dandelions in our local grocery store (not a specialty store, just a plain old grocery store) but they were in a weird location among the conventional veggies. Don’t know how pesticide ridden they might be – they’re quite large,…
  • Hey Luna blu, our paths keep crossing! I’m not a lover of labels, but I’m an animal lover and I feed our dog a BARF diet. She transformed on it, and at 12, she’s gorgeous and healthy so it would be tough to go back now. I do buy Nature’s Variety pat…

  • Buddhism is as close as I’ll probably ever get to a religion. Like you, I’ve picked up lessons from many different religions, but after visiting Thailand you start to think there’s something to it, the people seemed so happy. At the moment I’m readi…

  • My husband is just like northernlights’, he eats what he’s served because it’s better than having to make it himself. He is extremely supportive, although many times his meal will go quite a long time without being touched because “He’s just relaxin…
  • I am a huge fan of the copper IUD. None of my doctors ever mentioned it as an option and I’m wondering if that’s because it lasts 1o years and is not a huge moneymaker. A friend told me about it and I was surprised because I always thought IUD’s wer…

  • Angie – if you have a chance, check out http://rawdorable.blogspot.com/ Shannonmarie has a young son and a non-raw husband and she’s turned just about any fun favorite cooked food into a raw treat – donuts, Girl Scout cookies, Trix, and she’s very …
  • Hey angie, the fact that you are being so caring and patient with him is going to make an impression on him no matter what. I have a seven year old daughter who is doing her best to keep up with my dietary changes. Sometimes it’s the texture that ma…
  • I always need to add a fat to mine like flax oil or coconut oil. They don’t seem to affect the taste at all. There’s a great blog and recipe on www.welikeitraw.com by Sarma about Green Smoothies, I didn’t know they could taste so good – lots of herb…
  • MSM is meant to be great for skin and joints, I throw the powder in my smoothies – it’s in the supplement section or you can buy it online.

  • I have a cheap rebounder, but it’s really fun and doesn’t seem to bother my husband when he’s in the same room hanging out. It’s a great warm-up for strength training too.
  • I LOVE COFFEE even though it’s not raw, but it makes me happy so I have one really nice latte a week and a savor it!! I’m going to look into the dandelion root tea, though.
  • You are not alone. I have always felt the same way and never understood why others didn’t respond to cruelty the way I did. I’ve been amazed to find my daughter reacting even more strongly, I have to read books extremely carefully because she will f…
  • I love Ecover products! I use their dish detergent (smells great) and dishwasher detergent which is one of the best natural brands I’ve tried.

  • I haven’t checked your link, you’re speaking to the converted after I was given a tour of a dairy farm a few years ago. I nearly had a nervous breakdown from the stress in the air. The cows were never let outside, ever, lived in tight and not pleasa…
  • Thanks for the link queenfluff! I did it years ago and I’ve been meaning to do it again! My husband helped me, although, he was HIGHLY skeptical and mystified when I asked him. I did find it helpful with my hearing. When I transitioned to 100% raw e…

  • One more suggestion – cypress essential oil – dilute it with jojoba or another oil. I get a small bottle of jojoba oil and drop lots of cypress oil in, plus whatever other oils I like and it seems to work well.

  • Boy, I wish I knew!! I go through the same thing and going raw didn’t change anything. I’ve started taking different herbs recommended for anxiety, no results yet, but I’ve had to resort to strategic clothing choices and then at least I don’t worry …

  • My husband studies ocean pollutants in whales and works with many scientists who study bio-persistent toxins. His bible for the home is Our Stolen Future by Theo Colburn which is all about plastics. I’m no expert personally, but these are the facts …
  • So far so good here, I’m intrigued by the lemon juice although my hair is the opposite, thick and curly. I’m using a boar bristle brush to brush my scalp before I shower and rinse my hair. I figure it’s like skin brushing the body. My only problem i…
  • troublesjustabubble – hopefully you’ll be like Carmentina and not have a gross faze. I unfortunately did the first time around and wore a hat all day long but that was because of my scalp. I can see how that would be tough in an office. The only thi…
  • I agree with the saving money, the more pure the shampoos and conditioners are that I buy, the more expensive they are, which I understand because chemicals can be cheap. I’m hoping to be able to travel without having to tote them along, just that l…
  • queenfluff, queen of no poo!! I was hoping you would show up. I remember the brush the first time around, it was amazing, and hard to clean as you said. I might try Dr. Bronners this time on the brush. I like the idea of thinking of it as conditione…
  • Carmentina – “going to the beach regularly in Hawaii”, sigh. Just happy for you. Stale bread, eh? I like the essential oil idea because I was also paranoid about the smell. mmmorgans – I’m the opposite of you, ridiculously waxy, which I’m hoping goi…
  • Good to hear Carmentina, because from what you’ve said in the past I think our hair is very similar. Did you say white balls??
  • Ok, I had to dig this up again, it’s been too long. How are the no-pooers doing? I did it for a couple of months and gave up, my scalp couldn’t take it, although I didn’t try the baking soda or acv tricks. So now I’m interested again and I’m hoping …
  • starofnight – it is weird, it’s like having Barbie hair. All I can say for the weeks ahead is hats and scarves! If you can get through the rough part it’s worth it.
  • Samilicious – that is a tricky one, I would have though 2 or 3 months would be enough time for your scalp to regulate itself. Before I rinse my hair I always give it a serious brushing with a wood bristle brush which gives it a super scalp massage. …
  • I just have to add that my 7 year old daughter’s hair is beautiful with no poo, and she really likes saying “no poo.” She hasn’t had any scary transition. It’s a relief not to have to go through the shampoo/conditioner saga with her.
