  • I did the same thing with the cravings when I went raw. You describe it so eloquently and it’s dead on! I did great for 2 wks then started binging on food I hadn’t eaten for years(I’m 42).My raw journey began 9/19 07 and I didn’t get back on track a…
  • I use a greenstar and the literature says 3 days. I have tried to drink it on the 4th and it does taste off. It tastes best the 1st day and no noticeable change again until the 4th. I just had a conference I had to go to and took enough for 3 days a…

  • I buy fresh unheated rolled oats from goldminenaturalfoods.com. They also sell regular rolled oats so I’m pretty sure these truly are unheated. They also are much firmer and chewier than regular organic rolled oats I bought at the health food store.

  • Thanks, I will pick up the oregano tincture. I wasn’t sure of the way to use the essential oil, only that you could. I also drink Pau’Darco everyday and use healthforce nutritional earth and vitamineral green (both contain probiotics). I sometimes a…
  • I remember reading something about the liver purging “junk” when the diet is much cleaner in a Norman Walker juice book. I also turn a little orange when I am drinking a lot of green juices and carrot juice. I think it is OK. Sometimes we just overw…

  • Hi I agree with what everyone said and I’ll add that I think these cravings are a form of detox. I went (and still am to a lesser degree) through the same thing at about my 2 wk point. I then started into a 3 mo binge on things I hadn’t eaten for ye…

  • Am late for work so this will be quick! Possible lack of HCl production which would impair digestion (esp. protein). Check out MSM for skin health and make sure you are getting adequate levels of essential fatty acids. Check out your calorie intake …
  • CheeryDeb, I also seem to get massive junk food cravings as a form of detox. They aren’t as intense as they used to be and I can now usually struggle through but man, it can be tough! I definitely need the 12 step approach
  • I am about 4 mo. in and still detoxing. When I do fall off the wagon, I don’t binge nearly as bad as I did before. I actually quickly get to a point where I just can’t eat anymore and I never used to do that when cooked. I am really looking forward …
  • The statistics associated with a meat based diet are mind boggling aren’t they! Also if you are into the law of attraction/manifesting thing, worry and fear about a situation will bring on more of the same. Concentrate on the positive aspect. ie. do…
  • A really good source for gardening type info is Mother Earth News and I think you can access all of the magazine info from their website. Lots of DIY info. I love the magazine.
  • I think we are going to have to get back to locally growing food crops. Even in town, your lawn can become a garden and many communities have CSA’s that you can join. The goofy weather could be a factor but at least if you are growing some of your o…
  • Green juices should help. I also swore I would never do the enema thing and in Feb I did a 30 something day juice feast and did them and they really do help. I suffered chronic low grade constipation for a couple of years and got away with senna tea…
  • Could it be gallstones? They usually cause acute pain but maybe you are not to that stage yet. There are stonebreaker teas on the market that soften the stones and liver flushes to help purge them. If there is any possibility that the colon is too f…
  • No but good info to have on hand. Thanks
  • achin70, What do you mean by running your kundalini energy? I have a couple of DVD’s, the hardest being Warrior workout with Ravi Singh & Ana Brett. I find breath of fire really difficult at this point to maintain and I really have to concentrat…

  • Cilantro will chelate heavy metal from your body and chorella will bind it in the gut and carry it out. Zeolite (Natural Cellular Defense) would also be good to chelate not only heavy metals, but also toxins
  • How old are you? Lack of HCl acid is a common problem and will cause you not to digest your proteins. This can be related to a lifetime diet of cooked food and/or problems being to acid . The body “steals from Peter to pay Paul” to maintain it’s alk…
  • HA! I almost made my hubby vomit once, mine got so bad. I only soak for 10 min and sprout 24 hr or just until they get little tails. We heat with a woodstove so it is usually very toasty in here and I always have trouble with buckwheat if I try to g…
  • Make sure you are getting about 1 to 2 lbs of greens per day in smoothies, salads and especially juice. It might be a good idea for you to monitor your body’s pH (I have read acidity is linked to recession and other oral problems) by checking your f…

  • I think some of my cravings are a part of my detox. I will be buzzing along just fine and BAM! I want things I haven’t eaten in years. It was absolutely uncontrollable last fall about 2 wks after going pretty close to 100%. I gave in big time and at…
  • I have to go to he inner harbor mid month so any info would be great. I usually break all my dietary habits and end up indulging when I travel, but I am slowly getting less “crazy” when I step off the wagon. I also feel like crap, too LOL. Maybe tha…
  • The best time to check is first thing in the AM. This is your true metabolic state. Checks through the day are more reactionary, but useful; It lets you know how your diet is affecting your balance. I have read that exteremely high pH is from a dump…
  • I am now an Artisana coconut butter addict! It has replaced my almond butter habit. So much for lightening my diet LOL
  • The teflex is a synthetic sheet product you use over and over. Parchment is a paper product and although I can usually get a few uses out of it, you eventually throw it away. I use parchment at this time and it works OK for me.
  • I’ve had no problems, but I have only ordered a few things from there. I get the raw success blog e-mail and I tink they are traveling in the New Zealand/ Australia area right now. Maybe try posting on the blog or just keep calling. I really prefer …

  • I fought like heck to get alkaline and never could get much above6 or maybe 6.2 1st thing in the AM. I did a green smoothie with only 1/2 cup frozen berries as the only fruit and 1/2 lb of greens, and a huge salad every day. I also ate too many nuts…
  • Check out Raw Spirit by Matt Monarch. He has a long interview with Dr. Bisci and explains a very functional intermediate diet that would probably work well with your Dad. He also gives a detailed explanation of detox and ways to help. The book is fai…
  • Exercise, especially weightlifting and sprinting should help up the metabolism after a fast. It probably does decrease the metabolism, but taking in less food should increase longevity by decreasing free radical formation from digestion. The nutriti…
