  • I don't think it's obsessive to not want a cooked grain. I don't, either. I'm 100% raw probably 360 days out of the year, and the other days are 99.9%. I don't like how cooked foods make me feel, so I don't eat them. This indicates a HEALTHY relatio…

  • I never suggested the daughter disrespect the mother or do anything negative. You mention a lack of control - the daughter can control what she puts in her body, and she probably needs that control. Can you imagine how you would feel if you were for…

  • OP: "I have an issue. My mom has been against me going raw, and she now is wanting me to eat cooked processed foods. She wants me to eat more things with rice and grains and i dont really want to eat them. Do you guys have any suggestions on what i …

  • How is someone owning their own body "dangerous" or "dissenting"? It's nothing but empowering and taking control of oneself. I wish more people would do it instead of blaming others for their problems.

  • Thanks, but I'm fine w/ regard to what I went through. I am 29. ;) My point wasn't "everyone feel bad for me, my parents were horrible" (that's the least of their problems, the nutritional part); my point was that parents don't always (and probably …

  • when this could be solved through non-aggressive communication. exactly our point! no need for the mom to be aggressive and abusive in trying to force her daughter against her daughter's will.

  • I believe that we can agree or disagree with each other without negative connotations or implied insults. We all come from different backgrounds. I come from a place where I had to work to eat at 16 because my parents didn't buy me enough food. I bo…

  • If the mom knows her daughter wants to be raw and is worried about her daughter's weight loss, then SHE COULD ADVISE TO EAT MORE RAW CALORIES. She wouldn't be trying to get her daughter to eat junk/cooked food. Further, I'd hardly consider it "advic…

  • I agree with Troubles. If you choose to eat cooked food (and make it your choice - it's your body, I will reiterate), sweet potatoes or broccoli are good choices. But again, set the precedent that you own your body; you respect your body; nobody can…

  • I agree. I would do nothing to appease her. What if her next request is even more outrageous and because you acquiesed this time, she will keep on pressing. Your body - your choice. If a man were trying to rape you, she'd be saying the same thing. N…

  • ? Maybe it's clumping up as a result of the coldness of the smoothie and your blades aren't grinding it well? Only thing I can suggest is eating it alone or not in a smoothie if you do eat the oil!
  • I wonder how long chia seeds take to digest. I wouldn't ask you to give up your beloved juice, Cuddles. :) No way!! :D
  • I'd be concerned with your dinner, Cuddles. What is it usually?
  • Fats would take up to 24 hours to digest.
  • I think those of us with lower fat intake don't have a problem.
  • I have periods where I need little sleep and periods where I want more. Just depends on the day.
  • Probably isn't mentioned as much because it's more obvious, whereas people seem to be disallusioned about fruit a lot.
  • I think some people feel better without greens or they like only a bit, and they seem to be healthy. Not everyone does everything the same, for sure!
  • I had mole removal scars that were 10 years old that started to go away when I went raw (but some fats, probably 15-25% of calories from fat on average), and now that I"m doing high fruit, low fat, my pores are smaller (my skin had already mostly cl…
  • I think eating more raw is good for everyone! Go for it. :)
  • Troubles, no problem! I would agree with you that maybe a few vegans (or people in general, even omnis) have died from a B12 deficiency, but not "many"!
  • Troubles, I think Kelly is one who doesn't want to supplement B12; I do, and have always on this site and others advocated that I think everyone, including omnivores, use a sublingual methylcobalamin. I don't know why you think I didn't know about B…
  • I've never heard of "many vegans" becoming deficient in B12 and especially later dying. Most probably have better levels than omnivores, considering they are mindful to supplement, whereas some omnis haven't even heard of B12.
  • I just wanted to say that while I believe some 80-10-10 people are pushy/do not subscribe to "live and let live," I think Kelly's posts have been nothing but respectful and helpful.
  • I haven't read Dr. Graham's book, and I'm high fruit, low fat. This isn't about Dr. Graham; this is about the human body and what's best for it.
  • You can do a low-fat diet (without tracking 811 or reading the book) that's high in fruit and include some superfoods if you wish, but you don't need them. :)
  • I'm a low-fat high fruit eater. PM me if you want to chat!
  • I would choose stevia for certain things over agave or yacon.....so I'm surprised you had issues with stevia! Sorry to hear. :)
  • I think you can go by how you feel. I had a couple juice feast days where I could run but then after about 6 days, I couldn't do it anymore; I needed to eat solid food to run.
  • I like Aubrey Organics, MyChelle, Talulah Skincare.....those are good starting points, but everyone is so different, just depends on your skin, your diet, the time of year, etc.
