  • Thanks - Yeah I'm thinking I will do that. Kale is a goitrogen too. Any ideas for nice greens for smoothies other than spinach or kale? I guess I could do some lettuces?
  • Ok :o) thanks Powerlifer!
  • Wow, Thanks you guys :) I thought steamed spinach messed with iron absorption? But I guess I'd be more concerned with the goitrogens....
  • Speaking of Iodine...I've been reading about thyroid issues and foods. Is raw spinach a goitrogenic food?? I use about a clamshell a day in my green smoothies! Say it isn't so!
  • Hey Powerlifer - I think I remember your comment in that thread. I believe you said it had to do with intestinal/digestive issues? I used to have the same problem on my cheeks. I think that being raw, along with taking MSM and adaptogens has helped …

  • Ah got it...thanks!
  • Nettle leaf is a source of iodine? Wonderful :) I take nettle leaf every day...I'm going to try working with some nori and dulse too...
  • Thanks Powerlifer. Unfortunately, its raining here too but its cooler today which is nice! Sure I would be happy to sample/test your adrenal formula - I trust your expertise :) I hope you don't mind sending it to the U.S. Regarding the Ortho, yeah I…
  • Hi Powerlifer :) Thank you for the info on the rhodiola rosea. I'm not sure if I can tell how it's affecting me. Strange that they would put it in there if it can be adverse. I'll check out some other brands to see if they're better. So far Ortho ha…
  • Hey all, I found that over time I've just gotten used to the bitter taste of the MSM. It was awful at first but now I barely notice. As for Maca I do it as a shot with this other nasty powder that I take....I like the idea of capsules though!
  • Wonderful :) Occassionally, I like steamed brussel sprouts :) Thanks Powerlifer!
  • Ooo Greenwood, thank you! I love greens so I'm happy to add the watercress! Hi Powerlifer, does steaming the goiterous vegetables make them safe to eat (regarding the iodine issue)?
  • Yeah I was doing both. I will just do the kraut for a while...bummer I liked the cabbage :)
  • Thanks Powerlifer - good to know. I think cabbage was the only one I was consuming but its mostly the sauerkraut. I've been doing dulse pretty much everyday now, so hopefully that will help :)
  • Hey Powerlifer :o) I hope all is well with you. So I read that iodine article (linked above) and it lists foods that hinder iodine utilization - one that caught my eye is cabbage. Is this true? I eat cabbage quite often and I have raw sauerkraut eve…
  • Thanks Powerlifer. I will keep at it. Sometimes I can't tell if they are detox symptoms or something else. I can't imagine things could be getting worse with all the supps I take and the variety foods I eat but I never know. I have a little addictio…
  • Hey Powerlifer :) I hope you are doing well! So, I'm curious about the iodine - what happens or what symptoms does one experience when they aren't getting enough iodine? Also, I wanted to ask you - lately I've noticed that my food is not breaking do…
  • I second Greenwood on the Nettle - it is great for Iron. Spinach has a lot of iron but I've heard that the oxilates interfere with its benefits...
  • Hey Scooterjinx, I had the exact same problem - it sounds like eczema which is a skin disorder usually caused by food sensitivities (mine is mostly nuts) and weak adrenal function. At the suggestion of Powerlifer (a member of this site) I started ta…
  • Hey Scooterjinx, I have had the same skin issues as you and it was due to food sensitivities - specifically nuts. The food sensitivies can be caused by many things but in the mean time maybe see if it's its something you're eating. I've been workin …

  • Hi Powerlifer :) Excellent I see it - its the combo pack, right? How is it packaged? Capsules or is it straight powder? I think I can just order it with my visa through the site if you prefer. Do you know if there is a way to avoid fees for the curr…

  • Thanks powerlifer - good to know - yes the alcohol would concern me! And yes I'm definitely interested in your herbal formula! How would you like to proceed with this? Thanks again :) Stacy

  • Hi Powerlifer :) I hope all is well with you! So in your opinion, what would be the best adaptogenic herbs to support the adrenals. I'm thinking about taking them in liquid form. Lately, I've been hearing about the negative effects of magnesium stea…

  • Thanks powerlifer. I wonder if the meat/adrenal thing has to do B12. Well, I appreciate your input and can't help but agree. I've noticed sometimes I want something different (be it steamed veggies or cooked lentils). With respect to having days whe…

  • Hi Powerlifer, I hope you are well. I was wondering, in your opinion, what do you feel is the idea diet? I noticed, in another thread, that you mentioned you didn't think 100% raw was a very healthy diet? Also, what are your thoughts on the 80-10-10…

  • Thanks, Powerlifer :) Yep I'm doing the bitters before my meal. And there is tumeric in them so that's good. I will try the lecithin. Maybe it'll just take some time. Thanks again!

  • Hi Powerlifer, I hope you are well. So, I've been using the bitters for a couple of weeks now, but unfortunately I don't think they're helping - or at least with the fats. Whenever, I consume fats with my meal, I usually get a creepy crawly feeling …

  • Oh good to know. I don't mind the taste of the bitters at all, so I will skip the water. Interesting about the fats, I suspected I was taking in too much fat. I tend to do that because of lack of calories and fear of fruit (candida). I'm trying to b…
