I am from the Midwest so am already trying to prepare for drier winter skin. What is oil pulling? I'd love some info as I've never heard of it before.
Coconut oil! :)
Olive oil is a good moisturizer for dry skin.I always believe olive oil during the wintertime.

Olive oil is really very effective.

I agree with several of the posts to,have a vapouriser in your bedroom at night, drink plenty of water and use coconut oil on your skin as a moisturiser.
My rosacea sensitive skin only gets coconut oil. Chlorine in water also is horrible.
According to mine personal experience you must try Gnatural Hair & Body Butter for the dry skin of your boyfriend. It gives me best results in just few days. You can order it from Gnatural Amazon store.
Coconut oil as lotion, and drink enough water for the hot day.
Hi there
I also have to face the same problem in winter, that time I used to depend on natural remedies, they are found easily and also helps in soothing your skin as well, this includes olive oil, coconut oil, and milk. Hope this information helps you dealing with dry skin.
I've been using Cethapil since I can remember I don't even remember why - maybe because I was allergic and at the time it was the best or because it is so easy to get it (Cethapil is literally in every drugstore). But I read about one dermatologist saying how bad it is and that it causes burning, actually it always burned me but I just realized after this doctor's advice.
I switched to completely natural brands, I'm safer because I know the exact ingredients and I don't have any allergic reaction/redness. Now I'm using Virginic's Jojoba Oil for dry skin, cracked lips, it;s an all-year round product summer or winter which is perfect. Link for reference: https://virginic.com/collections/oils/products/golden-jojoba-oil.
Recommend him to Use coconut or almond oil. It is best for dry skin.
Essential Oils for Dry Skin are really very effective
Exfoliating! If you can't beat the dry skin, remove it
Hello. I also have dry skin, especially in winter, hands and face are made unbearably dry. To reduce the dryness of the skin I use cosmetics from AnneMarie Borling, I buy a mask, eye cream and face cream. The lotion for washing takes each time the other, but I try to buy as natural as possible. I also use a facial massager (for better absorption of the cream), a washing machine, and a dermaroller 0.5 mm (once a week + collagen), a roller massager (for stimulation of the blood circulation).
All this gives a great result if you use it regularly
My next step is to buy a scrubber for the face.
If you have really dry skin then use Cedarwood, Frankincense, and lavender essential oils to get the healthy and moisturized skin.
I have extreamly dry skin as well.. I drink more than enough water in a day, I eat pretty clean, I'm really not sure what the cause is. But I actually started using this Shea-Cocoa all natural body butter from Naturally Nourished Skin Care. I really think the avocado oil used in this product has made all the difference, even recommended it to a friend that has really bad eczema on her elbows and extreamly dry lips, and it has worked worders... worth a try! I hope all of you have found, or find help soon! peace and love!
I always found coconut oil helps me through the worst days and does wonders for my hydration.
Drink more water, it's likely a dehydration related issue too. And go to a pharmacy and ask for an extra-hydrating cream.
He needs to ask a dermatologist this question because he may suffer from eczema or something else and we aren't medically qualified. Treating dry skin with only lotion and ignoring other necessary products may be a problem. My dermatologist recommends using Dove soap, Cetaphil or CeraVe lotion (they have been shown to hydrate the skin better than other products), drinking lots of water, and putting the lotion on immediately after showering (when your body is still wet) so the lotion gets into your skin even easier. The shower needs to be warm or hot so the skin cells open up; when the water is cold, the skin isn't as receptive because it tightens up. Lavender is known to be effective. A dermatologist would have a list of things to do.
I'm also suffering from the same dry skin problem. As per the recommendation of my dermatologist currently, I'm using Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50+ and it is working very well with my skin. My extremely dry, scaly and rough skin got nourished and hydrated after using it. Also, try to drink gallons of water daily.
Hello Everyone! First of all thanks to bing who bring me to this forum then the rawtarian. I was searching for some beauty tips for my dry skin on bing and it brings me here.
Reading the comments of different people around. I am sure I will get some solution to my dry skin plus because of dry skin, the skin looks rashy all the time, not a fresh face. Hope will get some tips here. Better is someone who can recommend home remedies for skin beauty.
Emma.
Ugh. My skin always gets dry at this time of year. I hate it!
Hello,
I think it's important to visit a specialist (dermatologist, cosmetologist). Personally I am using collagen (https://www.vitaminexpress.org/uk/collagen-supplements) because my cosmetologist recommended it. And it really makes my skin soft and clean.
Be safe!
I've always wondered how effective topical collagen is.
Hmmm. what saved me always is to drink more water and using moisturizing lotion right after shower. Eating less salt, add more vitamins (I had a bad skin cracks because of iodine deficiency, my elbows were extremely dry and scary looking). Also relative humidity in your house matters (unless you're living by the ocean).
I'm in a constant battle with my dry skin and unfortunately my head is no exception. The best relief I've found so far is rubbing aloe gel into it after a shower but does anyone else have any advise/tips? Note that I'm currently using one of the moisture head and shoulder 2 in 1s and aussie moisture conditioner.
Spending time in the heat and moisture of a sauna is the perfect preparation before giving your skin a peeling treatment. The sweating and the heat softens dry skin, and helps in removing dead skin layers.
