  • there's this guy called durianrider...I'm sure some of you know him..and he says he can eat 1 1/2 pounds of dates a meal (dates have 60 calories each = like 6000 calories) and he says he can burn up to 28,000 calories in a day.....lol...now that I t…
  • Yeah Bryan's gone. He said so in the other agave thread.
  • lol yea we buy our dates from Real Raw Food, where they’re a bit cheaper. Yep, lol, I’m sure I’m 12, I’ve had a lot of exposure to to raw food and healthy eating so now I’m pretty used to it :)
  • Exactly, sweetpea and the others. Don’t forget, Bryan, that dates are a fruit and no matter how sweet they are they are still fruits. Fruits are benign, even though eating many dates does sicken me. But it’s the healthiest of all sweeteners out ther…
  • Hey great! That looks really good. I do have to say though I make a similar version of your “meat kebabs” and it is SO GOOD. :)
  • I think, but I may b wrong, the Mangers thread in Being Raw is probably the longest, with around 50 pages. There may be longer threads though. To tell you the truth, I really haven’t tried any recipes on here. I’ve been so darn busy with schoolwork …
  • Nut butter and fruit ground up has to be one of the best combos every (especially banana). Next I'll try adding some cardamom.
  • it (or any nut butter really) is also incredible in the Caramel Coconut Cookies, and pureeing fruit with nut butter makes incredible puddings. Adding a few tablespoons of it to most desserts makes awesome stuff. Any more ideas?
  • When my next order of almonds comes in, I will do the banana ice dream. I have been meaning to do so for ages but schoolwork just hasn’t allowed the time to do much raw cooking. I love the apple idea too. I tend to have a lot more free time in the w…
  • love the pineapple ring idea. I like my Almond Butter Stuffed Dates recipe, and making candies. I can’t wait to try the ice cream. It sounds so good.
  • Yes, the whipped cream is really white. If you add the lecithin it will be slightly golden yellow, like the color of vanilla ice cream, but it’s totally optional. Gosh, that cool whip is so darn good. It’s better than whipped cream and I’m working o…

  • I make incredible whipped cream by grinding truly raw soaked cashews with agave nectar and some soy lecithin (optional) in a blender until completely smooth. You need to blend it a long time to get the whipped cream consistency. It should be warm bu…

  • I mostly do a lot of walking. On Sundays I play soccer but otherwise I am walking. It plays a huge role in my lifestyle and I couldn’t live without it. I usually walk 3 times a day for around 45 minutes.
  • Yes, you can get truly raw wild rice, but it isn’t edible by humans and it is green. I can’t put my hands on where but I found it on google. :)

  • Hey there, brown rice is actually the only rice that you can get raw. I would try to sprout the rice (like you would any grain, by draining the water off), and then use it in the recipe. Did you already try to sprout it, or did you just soak it?

  • Hello, everyone! I think I'm gonna join in this. I haven't purchased the book, but I am going to follow this diet since that's kind of what I'm eating. Today I have eaten red grapes, blackberry jam, oranges, (raw honey and blackberries), and later f…

  • Ha, I agree it’s pure junk, so I stuff it all in the freezer in case I find something remotely edible. So, it stays in the freezer and then it pretty much ends up getting thrown out. I never touch the chocolate or dye-laden things as they’re killers…
  • queenfluff, that costume is so COOL! I went out as a devil, I did the usual trick or treating except I didn’t eat the candy. For me I like all the scary pumpkins and dressing up and going for a walk more than the candy…if only there was a raw Hallow…
  • I am also a bit skeptical about that. When I eat pineapple (which is grown in tropical areas WAY far from where I live, and has been transported and shipped all over the country), the bromelain enzyme is so strong that it burns my fingers and digest…
  • Winona, most nut have enzyme inhibitors that only go away when you soak a nut. Unsoaked nuts are neither alive or dead; they are not a living food unless you soak them. I can’t digest an unsoaked nut, not even cashews which aren’t supposed to have e…
  • You could put them in the oven at the lowest temperature with the oven door open and a thermometer. I know lots of people without dehydrators do that.
  • Wow, so you and Zoe are going to move! I think she said Virginia? :) As far as I know, I don’t think you can get any raw nuts in the states. Sunfood sells a variety of nuts but they are hard to digest for me and whenever I soak their damn cashews th…
  • I’m not sure but organic hunza raisins form the bulk of my diet. They help the digestion a lot- and I find them superior to other raisins. They are made with white grapes. If Whole Foods sells the hunza raisins get those, because they are are better…

  • Thank you so much Kristen! Yes, I am absolutely getting truly raw cashews from a very reliable Canadian source, and I will follow you’re guidelines.
  • Thanks guys! I was using the cookies in an ice cream sandwich so stylestacey that should be interesting.
  • Ah sorry for the long delay, I let this one slip my mind. Waterbaby my mom and I eat the wild blue green algae as a main source of B12. Thanks! You guys may find this really cool about cancer – called the grape cure. http://www.alternativehealth.co.…
  • Hey your welcome holyguac :)
  • I actually found out about the study in the Naked Chocolate book. Here are the quotes. I took all the information out of that section so it’s not all about the particular study. There is no particular brand, but my favorite is the Crystal Algae. Blu…
  • The algae is really awesome. And you don’t have to eat the slimy kind (lol) because you an get raw dried powder in capsule form. It is very unique and is like a food.I definitely think you should eat it, as it improves concentration and brain functi…
  • Hi there waterbaby my mom and I eat the Klamath Wild Blue Green Algae to get B12. I have heard that spirulina and blue green algae are the same things – but I find the blue green algae is much superior to spirulina and much easier to digest. You can…
