  • its not raw, but it is living, so i still use it. like i often say, sanity preservation is essential, so i’m not going to deny myself a little but of nama shoyu now and then.
  • i dont have a superhero blender like a vitamix or ktech, but i have a pretty good one i bought at a high-end kitchen store that works fine, and i use it every day for green smoothies.
  • I’m feeling a little under the weather today, so I’ll be having the water of two young coconuts, and maybe some green juice a few hours after that. But for lunch today I had a delicious raw pizza I bought at the market on the weekend=)
  • i know someone with type 1 diabetes, so any progress you make in the next while would be of great interest to me. let us know how you’re doing!

  • its safe to store them in the fridge, how long would depend on the kind of cheese you make, and as far as i know the only warning sign is the strange smell/taste, and possibly molding? although mine are all devoured before they go bad…rule of thumb …

  • i’m no doctor, but i’m going to give you some general advice on healing, in that the most healing foods are wheatgrass juice, garlic, and dark leafy greens. these may or may not heal pneumonia but i’m almost sure it will help.

  • i use agave that particularly says “processed below 118 degrees”. thats raw enough for me. i don’t know if its acidifying or not, but generally i use it in such small amouns that the amount of things i eat that are alkalizing negate whatever effect…

  • this is really strange to me, because although i eat raw cacao pretty rarely (once a month or so) i have never experienced any negative side effects…or any effects at all actually. its always just tasted very good. i also don’t experience cravings …
  • i love tanderines, but my addiction is in pomegranate seeds. i know this place that sells them already seperated from the rest of the pomegranate in little containers. i literally eat about 6 in one sitting.

  • two ingredients: young coconut meat (the thick kind, cut into strips like shortish noodles) miso mix together and eat. surprisingly delicious
  • try holding wheatgrass juice in your mouth for about five minutes, it pulls toxins from the gums
  • good on you! i haven’t tried sprouting yet, but i eat a lot of sprouts i get from a lady at the farmers market. they really do make me feel amazing. ps…whats on/under the zucchini? looks yummy
  • i have no idea, (so this may be kind of a useless reply), but remember to taste as you go. screwing up raw food is really difficult because…well quite frankly because you’re not chemically altering the food, so it usually tastes pretty much the same…
  • for me, a lot of exercise that i enjoy seems to do the trick for keeping up body heat. i also drink a lot of warm water with lemon.
  • does your husband have a good amount of raw greens in his diet? when i was losing too much weight, green smoothies and juices helped to balance it out
  • your best bet at this point would be to go on a juice fast, at the very least a week long. at first it will get worse (detox), but the a hundred times better, it helped me immensely. also, about a teaspoon of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar dilute…

  • ooh congratulations, i totally know how you feel, the first night i went clubbing after going raw i danced for HOURS, and all my friends who were drinking..(and so on) were completely beat and had to take breaks, not to mention being extremely tired…
  • get as MANY greens as you can, dark leafy greens, SO important. green smoothies made with a handful of greens, fruit, and water (sounds gross but is DELICIOUS) are a great way to start off your day…they are a staple in my diet. seaweed and wheatgras…
