  • My Vitamix 5200 is worth every penny I spent and then some. I saved up for six months so it wouldn’t take a bite out of my budget. The day it arrived I made a smoothie in my regular blender. A neighbor and I sampled the results. I put the remainder …
  • I am again experiencing difficulty accessing the site in the evenings. Last night beginning a little after 10:00 EDT I simply could not log on. I had no problem accessing other web sites.

  • Kandace, you probably are already aware of this, but just in case you aren’t . . . the Active Discussions on the Home Page is not updating as soon as an entry is posted. The most recent topic as I am writing this shows posting an hour ago. I’ve just…

  • I use a pint size wide mouth mason jar. I’ve replaced the solid part of the lid with unbleached cheese cloth. This makes it very easy to add water for rinsing, and then turn the jar upside down to drain the water out. I lay the jar on its side in a …
  • You’re most welcome. Please post your creations.

  • I use alfalfa or broccoli sprouts. Sometimes the sprouts are a substitute for spinach or kale. Sometimes I add both the leafy greens and sprouts. I’m on vacation at the moment and have a head of broccoli but am out of sprouts. I’m trying to use up a…

  • Before I went raw I used sprouts in most of my stir fry dishes. I also put them in sandwiches and wraps, and, of course, in salads. Friends at school used to tell me I was the only person they had ever known who ate a salad IN their sandwich. Now th…

  • If everyone started a local grassroots effort like those described in the following links, we would see a difference. There’s a thread under Other Stuff / how cool is this? The first link is a beautification effort. The second is vegetable gardening…
  • I posted the following on 15 Days All Raw, then saw that you had started this thread. To check on your Monitored Topics . . . go to My Profile. Click on MONITORED where it says VIEW ALL / MONITORED POSTS. Postings to the topics you are watching are …
  • Bluedolfin, Thanks for your suggestions. The CSA I talked with doesn't offer an every other week option. SimplyRaw says there is another in our area. I'll have to check them out. I had thought of sharing with another single teacher, but I don't thin…

  • I did notice that Oxbow is operated in association with Columbus Water Works. They've got bird walks scheduled for Saturday and Sunday mornings in January beginning the 10th. But that's all. It's sad that such a beautiful resource might become a tra…

  • Yes, we are in the same general area - probably about 40 to 50 miles away. Any raw or vegan pot lucks down your way? Any good places to eat raw? Most of my acquaintances think I'm a bit crazy. My true friends take me as I am and accommodate a little…

  • Bitt, it was good to hear from you over on Meditating's thread. I started to post this there, but decided to keep all the worm bin history together here. How's are your little critters doing? Did you take them to school for the winter? I found out j…

  • Bitt, how’s the worm bin doing?

  • Bitt, if you haven’t already, I would suggest a web search on the subject. There are some good worm bin sites that tell how to balance worms and bin size with the volume of worm food (kitchen scraps) you expect the worms to handle. Moisture and temp…

  • I have a neighbor who drinks Arizona green tea. She was throwing the glass bottles away. I pick them up, clean them and use them, primarily for water. If I use one for a smoothie or cold soup and it doesn’t come clean easily, I add it to the recycle…
  • My mother was an alzheimer’s patient. When I ran across research that said autopsies of Alzheimer’s patients showed large quantities of aluminum, I removed all known aluminum from my home. Deodorant, foil, cookware, soda cans (before RAW), anything …

  • A lot of the links from before the upgrade no longer work. I think this is the thread to which Queenfluff is referring. http://www.goneraw.com/node/11413
  • The only other suggestion I have, beyond emailing Kandace directly (kandace at needmoredesigns.com) is to use the Feedback link (bottom right corner of all screens) when you are on the screen that gives you the password error message.
  • Katt, sounds like your best course of action at this point would be to email Kandace directly. Hope you get it solved soon.
  • Katt, you don't say if you've tried the Request New Password link. If you have and are not getting results, try emailing Kandace directly: kandace at needmoredesigns.com.
  • Carnap, care to share the measurements for your bread? I'm always up for a good zucchini recipe. My mother always had loads of zucchini in her garden and made delicious breads. I really miss her breads . . . and her.
