  • nuts made me bloat terribly when i first went raw. now i digest them fine and i really like the variety in the recipes i make and eat! but, like anything, i’ll listen to my body and if things change, they change.
  • i don’t know if it’s detox, but when i run i always keep my hair away from my face with a ponytail plus a headband and i think it helps keep my skin less oily/sweaty. hope that helps!
  • i find running on the treadmill much more challenging. it’s so tedious! i run much faster outside. i second the 3 incline. i also spend time on the tread on the highest incline just walking to change it up or slowing the speed down to do a side shuf…

  • mistys1979- i blog what eat everyday at http://heartshapedsky.vox.com/ . i found after giving myself some time that i now digest nuts much better, no more bloating. i’ve been raw for about 2 months. i did 2 weeks transition, 4 weeks 100%, and now a …

  • welcome Daisychick, there are so many wonderful resources on this site. i’m so very sorry to hear about your husband. all the best to you.
  • red earth, i’d like to know more about the coconut and banana diet too. thank you!
  • i agree as well, fruits primarily in the am- often times in green smoothies, pm is for more greens, vegies, nuts, seeds, fats.
  • after reading this i ate a handful of goji berries and a banana and did an hour workout in the park and i was bouncing all over the place with energy! i had some cocao earlier in the day so the banana seemed like a good idea, and it was!
  • my acne is all on my chin too! have_mersey, thanks for the info! i think i should look into the candida issue, perhaps that’s what i’m dealing with…
  • can you tell us more about colon and liver cleansing? i’ve had acne and rosacea for a long time and 5 weeks raw has made a world of difference, but i still have a few sneaky pimples coming and going! thanks!
  • please go to a doctor. my mom had those same experiences and it was a small stroke. called a tia, i think. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?id… i agree fully with bluedolfin, beautiful advice. make yourself feel safe first and please go.…

  • i lost about 4 pounds the first 2 weeks i went raw, but that’s probably all i need and should lose. i’m barely 4’ 11” and i’m about 99 pounds now. i’m a runner and i want to keep my athletic shape- fat loss is fantastic though.
  • jenergy- this may sound cheesy to some but it really works for me: as soon as i find myself falling out of that running zone or getting tired i do the in-in-out-out breathing and i repeat in my head to that beat,”i am a runner, i can run.” affirmati…

  • holy cow- raw marshmallows sound fun! can’t wait to hear how it goes!
  • i’ve made spinach with 2 pears and a banana. the banana gives it sweetness and a smoother texture and the pears tend to over power the spinach. i can even hide a cucumber in there too. i also put half a squeezed lemon in today and it tasted perfect!
  • the first time i used coconut oil i didn’t know it would harden a bit when it was chilled, so i drop all of my smoothie ingredients into my blendtec and get sidetracked by my little boy, come back a bit later to start up the blender and almost blow …
