  • i'm not sure if you've seen this website: www.juicefeasting.com i like juicing and have only lasted 24 hours on a juice feast, but i wasn't drinking enough juice that was why it didn't work for me.

  • Ice cream, hello and welcome! I love RAW ice cream and eat it guilt-free! raw foods can affect your teeth if you eat LOTS of fruits. a good rule of thumb is to rinse with water if not brush at each meal. another problem is the fiber of raw foods can…
  • I like complicated recipes too. I mean I can eat simply but it just gets dull after awhile. I devote a day a week to making things. Once you get some basics you like they get a lot easier to make. And you can make a big batch to last awhile.
  • I'm a teacher! Teachers rock! YOu are doing a hard job but hopefully raw will give you more energy to do even better! YOu have some good advice from the folks above. I sometimes make my lunch the night before but most often throw together a salad in…
  • I don't think there is one thing that is the magic thing to cure all ills. Our bodies need many things to provide the nutrients we need. So, wheatgrass is great but so are other fruits and veggies. I was a big wheatgrass drinker (once a week or more…
  • have you tried a collard wrap? I take out the thickest part of the stem on collards and kale. My husband takes out the whole stem. that might make it more palatable, as the stem seems to be the most bitter.
  • boiled water? there are no enzymes in water to kill! i like ginger tea as well. and i do fruit tea too.
  • wow, she is a light sleeper. try putting a box over it?
  • i like to make ani's flax bread as a side to my salads. as far as this site, the easiest i make is the cheese with spring onions. yes you need to soak the seeds but it's not as if you need to sit around watching them soak. put them in first thing th…
  • all good advice. i try to eat dulse a few times a week. flax seeds are a pretty easy thing to eat a lot of. i make crackers and flax cakes. see my profile for a recipe. you could also buy flax crackers if you don't have a place to cook. don't be afr…

  • i have heard this too. That is why I think those raw foodies who chose not to brush their teeth are ridiculous! I eat a fair amount of citrus but also supplement with calcium. I also floss and brush twice a day. Anyone who doesn't better be prepared…

  • coconuts have monolaurin which has been known to cure viruses. i'm sure there are also many other secrets like that in raw food.
  • if it is detox a colonic might help. also, perhaps you are allergic to something. my husband gets bad acne from garlic. a raw diet would not cure him if he had garlic on raw. you can get tested for these things.
  • yes i've noticed this. i tend to like them softer, but then i simply dehydrate the bread a bit more before i eat them. that does the trick. i also keep them in the fridge. the other option is to dehydrate them a lot longer. they will be VERY hard li…
  • it's probably the type of fat. rawkidchef is right, coconut oil is the best fat for you, so try that one. you can hide in in a smoothie if you don't like the taste.

  • you're going to need to either eat more nuts/seeds or fruit. why are you so scared of fruit? how many calories are you eating? coconut oil is a good oil to add into your diet.
  • oh those look good! thanks for sharing. i've had some store-bought kale chips from LA and they were delicious! somehow the homemade ones were not the same, but i could have been doing it wrong.

  • yes, so true! i ate some processed food yesterday and my back was screaming out in pain! i listened and i am back on 100% raw. at first, my body could take small doses of cooked but then it just added up to no good.

  • my naturopath said to beware of too much iron in seaweed. moderation is key there.
  • greens and fruits are OK mixed together. it's fruits and veggies that are supposed to not combine well. it does sound like a lot of fiber to me. but you will get used to it. chances are it's not the greens causing the bloating but something else.
  • simply raw, i eat something similar with the chia. why do you say it is bad? i like them with buckwheaties. nut milk, cinnamon, berries and maybe some yacon or agave. i don't really like them in smoothies as it makes it too thick unless you drink it…

  • I think a good way to tell if you are doing well is to see if you are feeling better! you can't let yourself be bogged down in what's 100% raw and what's not. you have to just base your diet on fruits, veggies, seeds, and nuts and the rest of the th…
  • I haven't heard anyone say that spirulina will help with iron. someone told me it doesn't. too much conflicting info out there! If he breastfeeds, can you just eat more iron and he will get it from you? does it work that way? I think you need to ge…
  • get a pit bull to cuddle with! scarves. and layers. i have been having some soup, no grains, no beans. just clear broth and soaked veggies. i also do some cooked squash and sweet potato. i am a big fan of tea. i seem to get more cold at night, so i …
  • you might have to trick yourself into eating greens. i was starting to get nauseuous at greens the other day. it turned out it was what i was putting with the greens, since greens actually have a neutral flavor. so today I mixed a bunch of fruit in …
