  • I think if we were debt free alot of things would come more naturally such as better healthcare and education. Getting out of the war is probably the first thing to do in order to get out of debt. I’m conservative in that I think smaller government …
  • jellibi! Thank you. I totally agree. I know that the Palin thread is dividing us and I’d rather not be a part of it(I know, I know, it’s because I’m a conservative and am gravely outnumbered there). I’ll start by saying, A. I want the war to end and…
  • clr-I don’t know but shouldn’t it be like the FDA? They’re the only people regulating the food in this country. All they would have to do is set the guidelines for using the term RAW. It’d be pretty awesome
  • Alright, I’m just going to go ahead and mention the coconut oil that is raw that I’ve found since this is what drove us to make this thread. I recently found out that the term “cold pressed” is approved only for olive oil and can be used for anythin…
  • eww! Yucky! That’s so weird and random.
  • I agree. I have omitted almost all rich food items such as cocoa, nuts, and even most sweeteners. I find I enjoy simpler and simpler things. It’s a preference though and I’m just going with what my body tells me. To each his own in the realm of raw.
  • cafeine isn’t bad for the body. It’s gotten a bad rap for a long time but in recent years it’s been scientifically proven that it does not harm the body and in small doses can actually be beneficial. It’s natural and in raw cocoa it’s perfectly acce…
  • I used to have severe acid reflux and they at one point thought I had an ulcer as well. It’s a rough place to be in….. Okay, here the deal the acid and alkaline. Basically any unnatural foods like, artificial sugar, processed starches, refined sugar…
  • wowsers! That is short notice. Maybe the pesto on zucchini “noodles”? It’s simple, tasty and doesn’t need any soaking, dehydrating or chilling. For dessert maybe an apple pie? They don’t take to much time I don’t think
  • don’t tempt me! haha. I’ll get it started as soon as I get home though! Well, I gotta make sure I’ve got everything but it’s definitely high on my priorities.
  • JoyceH-you’re killing me! I want to leave work right now to make it!
  • I love her site! I’ve been there so many times and am always pleasantly surprised. Now I’m inspired to make the triple berry cake!
  • Good point ardesmond2. It does have alot to do with the ingredients. I’m not 100% but I’m pretty close and recently I decided that it’s not the worst thing in the world to enjoy a piece of homemade, whole grain bread. It’s actually quite tasty and I…
  • I also make my own teas out of pineapple sage, mints(chocolate mint is my favorite) and lemon balm. My mom made tea out of all kinds of basil with a touch of honey and it was amazing. Cold or hot.
  • I personally drink tea quite often. It’s not considered raw but it’s very beneficial in it’s own ways. I drink it to warm up as well. Another suggestion to keep warmer is to dry skin brush. There are plenty of threads on here about it. It get’s your…
  • My stomach hurts when I don’t eat enough. It keeps me from forgetting to eat though!
  • I don’t even care if it’s subsidized here I just want it to be more easily available. I mean, in my neighborhood we have no choice on our electric company. They are terrible! Sometimes our power will go off on a sunny day for a couple hours. That’s …
  • okay, I know the answer to this question but I’m going to pose it anyway…...Why are we not tapping into solar power more???? It should be made easily accessible, and purchasable to general consumers as an option for power. Of course, I know this is …
  • yeah, it’s a mess for sure and it seems that, as usual, money and big corporations are behind it. Well I’m working towards my own sustainability even though I’m far from it. I just don’t want to be royally screwed when everything falls apart.
  • argh, I get upset when I see how little they care about arguably one of the most important issues. Also, hasn’t ethanol had an awful effect on things? Doesn’t it take alot of fossil fuel to create? Both candidates are too inactive on this for me.
  • speaking of the bailout…..is anyone else completely freaked out that the government now holds a ridiculous amount of shares in all the biggest banks? This is incredibly dangerous!
  • Solar power is so amazing. Since we know how to harness it why aren’t we using it more? If it was more easily available to the public I would use it in a heartbeat.
  • McCain IS going to be there? I thought it was pretty irresponsible when he said he might not. You’ve gotta be able to think about more than one thing as a president. He can’t just suspend things he has already committed to.
  • Hey Joyce-I’m gonna try to give a crack at your question since you were so courteous in answering mine on the other thread. This is information I’ve gathered generally(I live in the midwest so there’s alot of it. ha) about Obama and why people disli…
  • Hey, in response to your response to Beany. “They” did start the war by A. attacking our country at 9/11 B.disobeying the UN and C. killing millions of innocent people. I’m not going to stay on this thread since I know I’ll just get beaten down but …
  • hehe thanks! It looks awesome and I’m hoping we can get some good info.
  • Hey! That’s a great idea! It can’t hurt and we could get the input from anyone who has done any research of their own.
  • hmm, I think maybe it might be getting a bit more popular. I live in the midwest(big on bbq and meat and potatoes) and my hyvee a couple years ago started a health food section where they sell raw seeds and nuts in bulk and things like medjool dates…
  • that probably means the coconut oil you bought isn’t cold pressed unrefined virgin coconut oil. I made the same mistake the first time I bought it. It was cold pressed and virgin but somewhat refined.
  • The prices on there were much more anyway. My suggestion is get the virgin unrefined coconut oil from your healthfood store and then just heat it by setting the jar in a bowl of warm water. It’ll be just as good and smell amazing!
