  • Might be the undigested buckwheat, nori, etc. that you're eating.

  • I don't think it's extreme at all. I think "extreme" is ordering ten "raw" (not really and certainly not fresh) items online so you can make a raw recipe which gives you a stomachache.

  • I would eat a food high in sodium, NOT ANY SALT. Unless you want salt so bad that bloating and internal problems don't matter so much. Celery, tomatoes, some spinaches, romaine, melons, avocado work for me.

  • Hello, welcome! I bet it was the raw fruits and veg, as our cells and what we choose to eat to make them makes a larger difference than something topical, in my opinion.
  • I don't think fruit causes spikes in blood sugar.
    in AVOCADO Comment by superfood2
  • what about sugar levels? what's your question? maybe someone who had sugar issues can help you. i eat high fruit and have no sugar issues. in fact, i think grains and high fat foods cause sugar issues.

  • no, don't be careful with fruit if you want to lose weight. be careful with oils, nuts, seeds, powders.

  • Eecho, there may be "more important" issues to "worry about" but having a conversation about it on here that takes a couple seconds to post isn't "worrying about" something for me.

  • Maybe you should check out the wool industry and sheep industry before acting as if it's similar to a haircut. I can't believe anyone with knowledge would suggest that.

  • PETA has it as a Disclaimer that the nonvegan foods on their VEGAN list aren't vegan. Why label the list "vegan" IT's dumb if you ask me.
in Kellogs Cereal? Comment by superfood2
  • Unfortunately, I think those cereals are on PETA's list of vegan foods, but yes, of course they're not vegan.

  • Fruit and greens. IF you get enough calories, you get enough protein. Protein doesn't build muscle; weight training and resistance training does.
  • I believe you have been correctly informed and that most nuts are not raw.
  • what are you eating? don't be shy, everyone poops. :)
  • Actually, 80/10/10 isn't about restriction, number one. And number two, it's not necessarily a raw plan, so if you're doing non-all-raw 80/10/10, steamed veggies and grains are eaten.
  • if you didn't eat enough the day before (as in fruit), this would affect your running as well.
  • Agree with Swayze. Make sure you have enough fresh, ripe fruit on hand. And maybe try green smoothies to get those greens in. I don't count poundage, but try to get about 20 c. of greens per day.
  • I have had: first breakfst - 7 bananas second breakfast - kale, spinach, apple, and banana smoothies, about 3 magic bullet cups' worth lunch - salad of mixed greens and strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, grapes, blueberries dinner 1 - 7 bananas dinner 2…

  • i think it's like 95% or more raw.
  • I think cooked foods are terrible for your skin, as are spices, salts, agave/honey syrups, oils, caffeine and other stimulants. Try to eat as much raw as possible - you have nothing to lose!
  • I agree on the Raw Reform person. I don't know why she describes herself as a raw foodist with her 1) diet of powders and pollen and pills and maybe a "raw" cookie 2) low amount of calories such that she'd best be described as a "starvationist," if …
  • I like to use spinach and kale in my green smoothies. What kind of sweets are you eating? In my opinion, there's no need for sweets if you are getting enough calories from fruit.
  • i'm glad you feel better, alexa. you can only state your personal experience, and those of us who are longtime vegans have our experiences as well.

  • Cool. I remember I was raw for a long time and had some rice & beans. It felt like it took three days to digest. I'm just saying that if it's been a while, I wouldn't expect to feel wonderful, but at this point, it sounds like you need a change.

  • Shazzie eats a very processed "raw" diet from what I can tell. I wouldn't get health info from her or anyone who eats items out of a package in the amount that she does, also uses stimulants. I'd go easy on the grains and only do gluten-free items. …

  • i'm sorry, but you're the one making a claim that butter is superior, and i responded, so i'll wait for your evidence and then respond individually to each claim. don't post any studies connected to ag business or any monetary interests, please.

  • Fat soluble vitamins specifically K2, A, D and E. Conjugated linoliec acid. Cholesterol. Plus other good stuff K2 appears to be a marketing ploy, from what I can tell. A (or beta carotene) & E from plant-based sources is superior, in my opinion.…
