  • I didnt even know you could get canned pumpkin must look out for it. But seeing as there in season just now ill pick up a few fresh in the meantime. http://www.amlaberry.co.uk
  • I havent read 80/10/10 but i can see no reason why not, pumpkin is very healthy and full of nutrients. If not one inline with 811 one pumpkin wont do any harm:).
  • I believe the old vita-mix juicers retain the fiber, is anyone aware of any other juicers which retain the fiber id be most interested as juicing can be a great tool.
  • Both are good but only if the juice retains the fibre like i say. So if yours doesnt i would say blending is a better idea. Yeah green vegetables such as spinach, kale all produce minimal juice compared to say lettuce. Strong greens such as spinach…
  • Depending on the juicer not much juice comes out for many vegetables. Strong greens such as kale are meant to be the small additions to juice. I prefer juicers that keep the fibres present as it doesnt provide a pure fructose hit to the liver which…
  • Honey contains vitamins, minerals, antioxidents, phytonutrients etc, but it is high in sugar and void of fibre which in excess can lead to fatty liver disease, diabetes etc. Manuka honey has higher nutritional content.
  • mushrooms are healthy but im not sure id like to eat them raw, i know there are some who do though. Just because there a form of fungus doesn't mean there bad for you there are many mushrooms with great health properties that have been studied such …
  • Hmm 5 years is a long time id say it probably has gone off date in that time.
  • Dulse is my favorite seaweed as it isn't as strong tasting as other seaweeds and it melts in your mouth also unlike wakame which takes a fair bit of chewing. Ahh sadly im on windows, ill need to see if i can find a similar program:). Take care
  • Nice video short, sweet and too the point:). What program did you use to make the video? Here i go again but id also add in seaweeds as quite a few raw vegans or even vegans run into low intake of iodine problems such as hypothyroidism.
  • Here is a wikipedia page on maltodextrin that should help explain things - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltodextrin

  • Get into making fresh food mate, salads and other meals with fresh ingredients is a good start. If your going raw then the staple of the lifestyle is lots of fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, seaweed etc.
  • There are many different elements to many raw diets some like 80/10/10 are just basically fruit only. Cacao although great nutritious food still has caffeine and theobromine which are CNS stimulants and deplete the adrenal glands. Some will try to…
  • There are hundreds of studies out there that would disagree with your belief that vitamin D supplementation isnt healthy. Pretty predictable article, its all fine if you live somewhere where you get a decent summer to build up sufficent vitamin D s…
  • That is a good analogy greenwood, if it were as simple as sticking things in our eyes to determine the toxicity of said chemical, plant, fruit, herb etc. Then we wouldn't need scientists getting paid masses of money and years of research to come to …
  • Cayenne is not a CNS stimulant so it doesnt affect the adrenal glands in anyway. Toxic plant stimulant where do you get this stuff? By what action does cayenne whip the adrenal glands into action again like i said its not a CNS stimulant so it doesn…
  • The only information i can find on the toxicity of cayenne peppers is all from raw food websites claiming the same bogus information such as " you can easily prove to yourself the toxicity level of cayenne peppers by how your body reacts to them" M…
  • lol cayenne isnt a toxic plant durian do you have any scientific back up for half the garbage you come out with? cayenne has a wealth of health benefits. Ill take the studies on capsaicin/cayenne's health benefits over durian science 101 especiall…
  • Cayenne is great and has alot of benefits, its rich in vitamins A and C also. Good for those who have low stomach acid and poor digestion also.
  • Its also good to get a wide variety not only for getting the wide scope of nutrients but each fruit and vegetable contains many different antioxidants, phyto-nutrients and other beneficial chemicals which as most already know are documented in preve…
  • I dont think restricting to a few fruits and greens is a good idea nutritional wise, its always best to get as broad a scope of different fruits, vegetables and if you eat nuts and seeds well them too. Dont forget seaweed aswell which is basically …
  • Have you tried logging your daily caloric intake with one of the online calorie trackers such as fitday. This will show you if your consuming more calories then expending. Pending excess calories arent the issue, you dont have any other symptoms of…
  • That recipe from Russel looks great thanks for posting.
  • what about butternut squash cubed, im not sure if you can eat it raw though, or pumpkin again im not sure if you can eat pumpkin raw.
  • In many cases the thyroid will still show up as normal via blood tests, there not awfully accurate neither are hormone blood tests. Basal body temperature first thing in the morning is more accurate for determining if you have low thyroid.
  • Onto the point though upping the calories and the rest wont help if the thyroid is low sadly. Infact raw_swede have you tried taking your basal body temperature first thing in the morning this is a good test for low thyroid although you can still ha…
  • It sounds to me more like your thyroid has slowed down and making you put on the weight. Its getting more and more common in the raw food movment those having thyroid problems mainly down to those not including an iodine source such as seaweed. Iodi…
  • Furry tongue can be a sign of bacterial overgrowth.
  • Low stomach acid is usually 90 percent of the time the cause of acid reflux type symptoms, an over excess of stomach acid is actually quite rare in medical literature. bitter herbs will help your symptoms if so.
  • They often say this but reading medical journals and excess of stomach acid is quite rare. I feel they play on the issue so they can prescribe ant-acids and proton pump inhibitors as frequently as they do often for no reason. Im also not fond of the…
