  • Most sinus infections are of fungal nature which is why the goldenseal would have worked, downside is that all berberine containing herbs kill off the good flora. The bee pollen would have worked by strengthening the adrenal glands to control infla…
  • It takes quite alot of dedication to stay on raw but dont stress about the cheating, it will only make things more hard and we all know stress isnt good health. Start fresh tomorrow.
  • It really depends on the workout, you'd want protein rich foods if its weight lifting etc. On a different note i never eat too close to bed it really wrecked my digestion years back before raw. Now i snack on some dried berries such as goji berries …
  • eczema is largely caused by adrenal dysfunction aswell as liver toxicity/stagnation, so building up the adrenal glands with what i recommend in the other threads is a good idea. Aswell as bitter herbs to cleanse the liver.

  • The best idea is to avoid caffeine and other stimulants all together. They are very detrimental to adrenal gland health and can cause many problems long term or if abused.
  • It really is great if you can grow as much food as possible yourself not only for the money saving, but it will be more fresh and more nutritious if grown in mineral rich soil.
  • A little flaxseed here and there isnt going to effect anyone with sufficient iodine intake to counter out the goitrogenic effect. Gourmet raw uses flaxseed in quite alot of recipes so if your eating flax with most meals id say that might be excessi…

  • They are good but shouldnt be overconsumed they are goitrogenic plus a very rich source of phyto-estrogens which can interfere with thyroid function if large amounts are consumed.

  • This isnt a book but i did a little article on raw and the increased need for iodine during pregnancy comes up. Iodine And The Vegan Lifestyle
  • Good to hear you's were fine in the end:).
  • I personally wouldnt use any of the above whilst pregnant, some of these are herbs(maca), some are synthetic compounds(MSM) etc. None of these have a great deal of research into there safety and implications for being used whilst pregnant and the on…
  • Dizziness upon standing up is known as orthostatic hypotension, and it is a direct result of dysfunctioning adrenal glands. You should try supporting your adrenal glands with adaptogenic herbs such as ashwagandha, jiaogulan, maca root, schizandra b…
  • If your looking for something sweet then medjool dates are amazing or dried fruit such as goji berries. If something savory then you cant go wrong with kale chips or some raw crackers. If a little in between then raw food bars such as nakds cashew…
  • The problem is as a new born baby, you need certain nutrients such as conditionally essential amino acids such as taurine which are found naturally in breast milk and are added to formula. Which makes it impossible to use milk such as coconut milk …

  • I agree its an issue where you need some tact and the tough love method has rarely worked from what ive seen. But its an issue that shouldn't be ignored either, ive known so many overweight people who have gone on to develop diabetes, heart disease …
  • The only way ive found that works is to keep encouraging them to change little by little. Unless you dedicated radical dietary and health changes such as SAD diet to raw vegan is impossible for most. Get her to start adding in more fruit, cooking fr…
  • I agree your likely craving for iodine which is a hard nutrient to get on a vegan diet let alone raw. Try some seaweeds, they are the best source and have a wealth of other health benefits.

  • Too many pan off everything that goes wrong as detox and i really dislike that intensely. Or they worry that there peers are going to grill them, lifestyle and diet shouldnt be about this. If you muck up and eat something bad who cares, life goes on…
