I don't know what to do for protein!!

  • Today--- I ate

So far -Breakfast - one grapefruit, one mango, 2 apples, a green fruit smoothie made with blueberries, bananas and 4 handfuls of spinach. I need a lot of raw food and I spread it out over a couple of hours. I have been eating all raw for more than 10 years.

  • from what ive read your protein is coming from the greens so make sure you eat them. and i also hear spirulina is high in protein. add some nuts and seeds and you'll have more than enough

  • Smoothie: fresh oj (organic but store bought), strawberries (organic), kiwis

    1/2 banana (organic)

    Green tea

Salad: spinach, 20 raw almonds, 1/2c lentils, 2 tomatoes, 1/2 cucumber, 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (all organic)

    lots of water all day

Salad: mixed greens, 1/4c black olives, 4 cherry tomatoes, 1/4 red onion, 1/2 cucumber, squeeze of lemon juice (raw but not organic....store bought pkged salad)

topped with 1tbsp ea of shelled flaxseed, hemp hearts and sunflower seeds (all raw organic)

Strawberries (about 1c) (organic) and one peach.

This is my first week as a 100% raw vegan. I enjoyed being vegan with 50/50, usually raw during the day and cooked in evening. Then I strayed back to the dark side and took on the eating habits of my room mates. Now I am paying for it lol. I am excited to get back on track. I've never gone raw before, but after much research I feel I can really benefit from it. I can't wait to get my energy back, lose the allergies and just feel right. At this time as well I believe I am suffering from candida overload! so I'm taking some strong probiotics.

As a newbie I have a quick question: Is green tea considered raw?

  • This is such a good idea!

    Breakfast:

Ezekiel cereal, blueberries, goji berries, hemp seeds, brazilian nut milk.

    Lunch:

Ezekial wrap, tons of veggies, raw veggie patty

    snack:

Raw brownie I got from this site! So good:

    rawliscious-brownies-chocolate-cake

    Dinner:

    Big green salad

    Snack:

Cheesy Kale chips, I just posted the recipe:

Large bowl of strawberries with handful of pumpkin seeds

    Handful of dried white mulberries

  • New to raw and the forum but have been reading for about a week... I love this topic! You all have inspired me with your daily plans and I am almost 100% raw. Thank you everyone!

    Steamed green beans and corn

Today was a pretty good day :)

  • Greenwood- you should absolutely try it! This is by far my favorite thing to eat. I eat it practically every day with just a few variations so I don't get bored.

    Today:

Breakfast- apple(addicted to pink ladys) non raw peanutbutter

Snack- avocado salad with lots of greens on the side

Lunch- 2 dot mangos(no strings at all!! Super delish!), strawberries, grapes in a bowl

Dinner- 2 slices of roasted potatoes, green salad with baby spring mix, extra spinach, romaine, and kale plus some cherry tomatoes!

Snack- mashed banana with almond butter and chopped almonds

  • Breakfast: Green lemonade (kale, celery, apple, ginger)

    Snack: half honeydew

Lunch: large salad w/vinegar oil dressing, Lara Bar

    Snack: Green lemonade, raw chips

    Dinner: pasta (not raw)

  • For breakfast I had one banana and one peach and four glasses of water.

between breakfast and lunch- 3 glasses of water

before lunch- 2 glasses of water

lunch- a bit of dulse topped with lemon juice and sea salt and chia seed gel (1 tbs. chia seeds soaked in water for twenty minutes)...

after lunch- two glasses of water

    the rest is a mystery...

  • oh...and I'm new to this stuff...so could someone give me a critique of what I've eaten so far and let me know if there's something I should add?

  • I've always eaten very little so I'm not in starvation mode. I just get full very quickly. I'm taking a multi-vitamin pill...is that enough?

oh and for the rest of the day I had one giant, juicy tomato, one kiwi, and one banana.

I know this is little, but I really do feel sick if I eat too much. I see posts of people who eat 8 bananas in the morning and 12 oranges at night and stuff like that...I just don't think I'd be able to do it. Could it be different body types?

Or is it because I'm not used to the new diet which requires a lot more substance intake due to the natural decrease in calories in "regular" food?

the chia seeds have a ridiculous amount of protein.

I'll def have more vegetables though...I feel I am definitely lacking in that. My parents are against this whole thing and rarely have veggies in the house. I'll have to go out and get them myself!

  • also >how do you sprout beans???? and what kinds of beans?

I also bought a bunch of raw sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. what should I do with those?

  • also, I can't afford all of that fruit!!!!!!!!!

  • Ok, superfood2...I get that...but there are certain nutrients that are just less accessible on this type of diet. Do you know of any natural multivitamins that would be good to take?

Oh and this was my diet today (tell me if it's better)

breakfast- 3 kiwis, 1/3 cup of raw sunflower seeds, 1/5 cup of raw walnuts

10-ish ...chia gel (2 tbs. instead of one this time)

lunch- 3 medium sized carrots, dulse, a tsp. olive oil, coriander, and cayenne all together...then a giant thing of lettuce.

3-ish...handful of almonds and walnuts and dried cranberries.

and a mug of Good earth's original blend tea yummmmm...

was it better? what can I do to fix it yet?

  • Well since its 1:30 in the morning here I'll say what i had yesterday

Breakfast - Mango and berry smoothie made with coconut water, ground flax, walnuts and agave nectar.

Lunch - kale salad with avocados, sprouts, radish and a sweet mustard dressing. Apple for dessert!

Dinner - Raw Pesto with Zucchini pasta and a raw sprouted bean miso soup. (The pasta is one of my favs!)

A few snacks in between such as almonds and fruits. Mostly I enjoy big healthy meals though. I think later this week I'll try for a raw lasagna. Any suggestions for fillings?

  • Mmmm Sounds awesome greenwood, I couldnt have pasta when I was just vegan (being celiac makes everything more expensive) but I love the great alternatives that people come up with. Thanks for the suggestion! :D

Breakfast at 8AM: A large apple. a banana, my Metamucil fibre drink (just trying to finish the tub off!)

Lunch at Noon: 2 large grapefruits (my favourite!) and a banana

Dinner: Going to a sports bar/pub to catch the NBA game - most likely will be nachos. (In which I essentially only eat the jalapenos and guac and salsa and olives off of). Hold the cheese + sour cream. Mostly raw (but today is a cheat day I guess!).

Snacks depending on how I feel later - i.e. fruits!

Also going to do a brief 1-hour work out before dinner after I get out of the office.

    TGIF!
