  • Hi Branwyn & Ungrateful, Check out the following link. It says not to eat raw chestnuts due to the tannic acid and that is why people cook them first. http://homecooking.about.com/od/nuts/a/rawchest… Here’s a link that tells all about tannic aci…
  • Hi Pantypanda, I notice that if I mix in a pinch of sea salt to the soak water that the nuts are hydrated in about half the time it normally takes. I also think they absorb more water too, so that with a light pinch at one end of the almond … it jus…
  • Hi Sunflowery, I heard somewhere that when you eat good fats (nuts, seeds, fatty fruit), they help to flush out and replace the old animal fats you may have in your body from eating meat or dairy … but veggie fats don’t “stick on the hips” as much a…

  • Hi Maria, Not sure if you are spiritual or not but I would Google & read the Gospel of Peace (it is related). Not sure what kind of worms you have but perhaps your body is so upset right now because it is expelling the worms you’ve had all along…
  • Gas leak …. lol … I had a good laugh at that one, it’s kind of true ;o) I absolutely love ripe durian!!! I think it’s my favorite fruit. I would not judge it by a smoothie made from a restaurant. They could be using a durian extract to be cost effe…
  • It’s the copper in the foods that bring back the hair colour. Here’s a list of foods that contain copper at this link (you’ll have to scroll down the page a bit): http://www.nutrientreference.com/copper.html Does anyone know if you can eat chestnuts…
  • Hi Rawmary … thanks for the vid. I personally like my green smoothies to stay green … green & beautiful!!! I don’t know why so many people are turned off by drinks that are green.
  • Thanks 123, gotta love it!!!
  • Hi Hippie Chick, I heard his podcast. Really the detox thing he said was the only new info I got out of it. I too was surprised at how they spoke of raw food, but I can’t remember exactly what was said though now. Yeah, the detox thing was scary for…

  • Hi Everyone, I just read a really informative blog about goiters & goitrous foods. The list is longer than you think. It also lists foods that are good for thyroid function. You can read it here: http://cupidvalentino.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_a…
  • I have had it done a couple of times and have had no bad experiences with it. I do think it does work. It’s been a while, but since you reminded me I think I will go buy some soon. I do recommend you have an expert do it or a friend who knows what t…

  • Cool post Carmentina. I’ve never heard of it before, but I’m going to look into it to see if it’s safe. If it is, I would love to use it since it sounds wonderful!!! If I ever try them, I will let you know how well they work. :o)
  • Hi Cher, What kind of rice did you use? Wild rice? Brown rice? I like wild rice the best. I usually let it soak at least overnight and it’s usually soft or bursted open the next morning to be put into recipes.

  • Hi Belamojo, He did not specify in the video whether man made or not. He said that an excitotoxin was any substance that causes the brain cells to be excited so much that the cells start to fire their impulses very rapidly and become exhausted and d…
  • Hi Newbie, I agree, they should not be allowed to add them. I think the first step would be to send a letter to your local government representative & let them know how you feel. Maybe someday if there are enough people writing letters they will…
  • Hi Revraw, I’m pretty positive there is a lot of caffiene in the raw cacao. So if you’re sensitive to it … that’s probably it. Also, there is no question … the chocolate will be fatal for your dog. It contains something called “theobromine” that is …
  • Hi Gymbum, I think that’s an individual thing. It’s pretty salty so if you eat a lot of it, I would drink lots of water. I don’t have it very often myself, but that’s just my taste.

  • Hi Alix & Everyone, You may find this article interesting. When my non-raw sister read the article & didn’t believe me she set out to prove me wrong. She went raw for 1 month & she came to me one day & admitted that the article was c…

  • Hi Auntsissy … if you’re using organic I would have no hesitation of eating cucumber peels along with the rest. But if they are not I would try not to eat them. If you do, wash them very well with a little soap. I have heard that the skins do have l…
  • Oh, I forgot to say that I had been 100% raw for all of 2006 but unfortunately had an operation in early 2007 and I am just getting back into the raw food lifestyle again now. When I was 100% raw I was so full of energy, about 10 times the amount of…

  • Hi … my grocery store does carry both. If your grocery store has a “Natural” section it’s best to go ask the person in that department. Although, I would say most health food stores would carry it for sure.

  • 2007 was not good for me … so I’m only looking straight ahead with optimism. I will grow more of my own food, sew some of my own clothes and of course become 100% raw and take steps towards a new occupation … in a field that I love.
  • Wow, there is so much good info here. Thanks to all.
